What is the purpose of doing this?

Bridhanaranyaka upanishad-
He should touch it and repeat the following mantra:
"Whatever semen of mine has spilt on earth, whatever has flowed to plants, whatever to water, I reclaim it."
With these words he should take the semen with his ring finger and thumb and rub it between his breasts or eyebrows, repeating the following mantra:
"Let the semen return to me, let Vigour come to me again, let glow and good fortune come to me again. May the deities who dwell in the sacrificial fire put the semen back in its proper place."

You are taking the lines too literally, in my view.

It is a fact that sexual energy can be converted into spiritual energy ( Ojas ) and raised up the 7 Chakras on the spine and used for spiritual awakening to theTrue Self.

And the 3rd eye ( Ajna Chakra ) , the between breasts ( Anahata Chakra ) point, are points in the 7 Chakra system.

When one has progressively balanced the sexual energy in all the 7 chakras.. then that is perhaps quite a spiritual feat.

Anyway, the Upanishads are not designed to be read from translations in English. One of the meanings of the word Upanishad is "Sitting Beside ( A Guru ) ", and a Guru is one who has realized oneself.

Proper interpretation can be provided only by one who has experienced and become the Knowledge that the Upanishads speak of.

Love and Light.

You betray your ignorance, foolishness and you are a liar. Please quote the original Text in Sanskrit(not an idiot's translation) from Brihadhaaranya Upanishad. You do not know the difference between Dasaradha and Daasaradha-only one "A" is different. You do not know the difference between Vasudeva and Vaasudeva--only one "A' is different. What do you know abot Brihadhaaranyaha Upanishad.?You do not even know the difference between Brihad and Aaranyam and you exibit your ignorance publicly and shamelessly
