Dan Brown says nothing about women entering prostitution because it was sacred. I have no idea what you even twisted to get that idea.
Yes, nuns stay virgins if they enter first thing. Some follow normal lives even having sex and then choose to end all that and join the church. Others lose their spouse and then join the church.
They do not have sexual relations once they are nuns.

Just you because YOU can't imagine a life without sex doesn't mean that other people can't. Thousands upon thousands of people all over the world have chosen to live and die as virgins.
There were such things as "temple prostitutes" and such back in days of paganism and it was those kinds of things that the early Christian church fought against.
