yes or no? The last time i was here people were trying to tell me that what i knew about quantum physics (and the nature of consciousness) was incorrect. Although i know that their opinions were incorrect, that did not stop them from trying to tell me that what i knew was wrong. I don't mind; they just haven't looked deep enough into what science tells us about the nature of god. Be that as it may, let me as this : " What is god without consciousness? "

Acts 2
38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.

Mark 10:14
...Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

I visited the Taj Mahal a few years ago and learned something horrific about it...

Did you know that the Muslim (Mughal) Emperor Shahjahan who commissioned the structure for one of his favorite wives had the hands cut off of all the laborers along with the right hand of the chief architect so that no one would ever be able to build such a marvelous monument again?

It was at that moment that I realized the Taj was no longer a labor of love as so often described, but rather, a labor of insanity!

Christians seem to have the right to wish me to Hell (or as they lie about it to themselves: "warn me about Hell"...). They invent a place where I will burn forever, in eternal horrible pain and 'warn' me about it.

When I get offended by their silliness, they tell me I shouldn't be offended, because I don't believe in the concept.

Hmm...

I took this concept to the test today. The first five Christians I met totday, I told them about my beliefs.

"When you die, in the afterlife you will be slowly cut open by a very old knife, they will cut your heart out and make you eat it. They will make your whole family watch this. After that you will only feel pain and you will sleep on a bed of nails for all eternity. The nails will enter your skin very very slowly for eternity. The pain will increase year by year by year. And people like me will throw up all over your face every hour."

Why did they get angry about my silliness? It's only a friendly warning.

On a second note to my last question.

Hey,

I've noted a lot of Christians seem to renounce the occult, and I want to know why [Don't quote.].

From my experience, those converts from the occultic areas were like Wiccans, or dabblers. They never got past the concept of "Do your thing, and you get stuff!" Then as soon as the kitchen got a little warm, they ran liek Hell.

I'm not trying to be rude, but most of their knowledge comes from outside sources, that are all biased.

Also, a lot of the Ex-Wiccans seem to be more along the lines of the fluffies, who cry because they cursed someone, and it rebounded. Why? You were a Wiccan, you had a tenet saying not to do that, so of course it came back.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, please, stop thinking about it merely in terms of, "OMG, I do teh spellz and I get teh stuff!"

Most of your converts were dabblers who didn't study enough before trying, or joining a group, or were Christians who wanted attention, so they jumped on the band wagon.

Thanks,

I know this question will draw a lot of people who will only spew hate and things not worth sharing... No worries go ahead and add your thoughts (?) if you feel you must. I can sift the good stuff from the junk... You are forgiven, and tolerated.

I often read comments from people saying they have studied Christianity or were Christians and no longer believe. I am particularly interested in comments from people with whom that fits. What I am really interested in is people who are willing to really think this through and offer up some insightful and well thought out input.

I'm not talking about the behavior of some Christians... I'm talking about Christianity from a philosophical stand point. What in the teachings of Christ and or the Bible in general do you find objectionable or offensive.

Please cite Bible references if you comment on something from the Bible.

Thanks,

Why do I see so many supposedly Christian posters going on about how awful Islam is? I'm not a big fan of Islam, but it doesn't sound worse than Christianity.

For instance, some Christian will complain that Muhammad killed a lot of people - well, so did your God, so did Moses, Joshua, Saul, David, and pretty much every other king in the Bible!

A few days back, there were about a dozen Christians posting in every thread that Muhammad was a bad person for having a 9 year old wife. Well, how old do you think Mary was? Most scholars believe she was 12 when she had Jesus, if she existed at all. And did God even ASK this 12 year old if she wanted to go through a pregnancy? No, he just told her after the fact. So how is Muhammad bad for having a 9 year old wife, when your God had a 12 year old incubator?

I've yet to hear a criticism against it that can't be leveled against Christianity. Since it's the Christians that complain the most about Islam, I'm just confused as to why?
