Who said that it was just for that? The husband/wife relationship takes priority over the parent/child relationship. Sex DOES bring children into the world, but it also provides a basis for intimacy between a MAN and HIS WIFE.

Within the confines of marriage sex is a gift of God to be enjoyed by both husband and wife. It is also viewed to be more of a giving rather than taking experience. Problems arise when it becomes a selfish indulgence that neglects the other person for your own gratification. What is and isn't allowed? tough question. I dint know if you can produce an exhaustive list of do's and donts but I would think that when you request that your spouse degrade themselves, you have crossed the line because you are no longer walking in love.

No, sex is not solely for bringing children into the world... although sex is certainly united to procreation, that is not the sole purpose it serves.
The purpose it serves is to strengthen the bond between man and woman, such that their love is a foretaste of heaven on Earth, and makes heaven present to men and women in a very real way. For love is practically a sacrament (and in marriage, it is one.)
As Pope Benedict put it:
"The epicure Gassendi used to offer Descartes the humorous greeting: “O Soul!” And Descartes would reply: “O Flesh!”.Yet it is neither the spirit alone nor the body alone that loves: it is man, the person, a unified creature composed of body and soul, who loves. Only when both dimensions are truly united, does man attain his full stature. Only thus is love —eros—able to mature and attain its authentic grandeur."

If you are serious, then try this article by Janet Smith, a devout Catholic who has written books on the subject that are linked to on Catholic Church websites...which should give you the answer in itself. But the long and short of it (ahem) is that intercourse is a natural part of the marriage bond that is not merely for reproductive purposes.
Here's an excerpt from that article:
Why should sexual union only take place within a marriage? It can hardly be denied that sexual relations create powerful bonds between individuals, even between those who do not desire such bonds. Those who have sexual intercourse are engaging in an action which bespeaks a deep commitment to another. Pope John Paul II uses an interesting phrase in his teachings on sex: “language of the body.” He claims that, like words, bodily actions have meanings, and that unless we intend those meanings with our actions, we should not perform them any more than we should speak words we do not mean. In both cases, lies are “spoken.” Sexual union means `I find you attractive”; “I care for you”; “I will try to work for your happiness”; “I wish to have a deep bond with you.”

I don't think Christians view sex as just a way to bring children into the world. I'm a Christian, I plan to get married someday and have sex with my husband, but I don't plan on having children.

God wants us to have sex, that's why it's pleasurable. But not until after marraige. And anal is an abomination. Actually, only missionary is acceptable. He prefers you actually become a missionary. But if only for sex, then only for sex..
