(Caveat -- this is not a "trick" question, nor is it being ask to purposely offend or "bash" atheist.) I am in a discussion group with people from all kinds of religious backgrounds. We have been addressing this question from a religious point of view and wanted to get a non-religious person's take. Thanks in advance for your serious answer that will shed some light on our discussion.

If you think about it Noah and his Ark...no one believed him and laughed at him for building the Ark so thus they were destroyed by the flood and Jesus died on the cross with few followers what he did have just watched and did not sacrifice themselves to save him even his own "mother". So if you look at the history in a sense right there in the "book of life" and they say history repeats itself then why would you be a Christian seeing there are so many of them? It seems to me like the religion that holds the fewer believers is the winner but that's just and observation. Majority seems to fail as far as the bible goes. What are your ideas on this?

Like he burned down Sodom, flooded the world so everything died except a few and heaps of other dastardly deeds to teach people a lesson but.
Has he done anything good.?
And don"t say he made the world because that is absolute bullsh*t.

okay so i dont get why people in the world suffer? like why is the world such a cold place?

i mean its good for some people, but its also really horrible for others,
like
divorice
abuse
killings in familys
alcoholic parents
war
poverty
ect all that bad stuff

so i understand how thats all from sin..but i do not get why some people/christians have a really good life and then go to heaven, but then some people have a horrible life and the go to heaven....its just so unfair, life on earth is very bad for some, but not for everyone, for some its super good, i think thats so unfair, and i dont understand why God can't put a stop to it, why dosent sin effect everyone(not that i want it too) but, it is so unfair how it only hits some people, why is this?

The bible says that "God is no respector persons". So, tell me, are religious leaders like the Pope, Dalai Lama, Billy Graham and other leaders of major religions more special and loved by God or not? Are we all eaqual? Are these leaders further up the love chain in God's eyes. I really need to know. This question is burning through me.

In the year 600,A Roman Emperor, named Justinian, decided to erase the teaching of reincarnation from christianity,as if a common man can change the eternal laws of God!
The establisment at that time were so powerful that they even maintained that the sun orbited around the earth, that animals had no souls,as well as women....but Eternal Truth will prevail!
Reincarnation explains the different "injustices" that exist when people are born:why would God make someone completely poor and the other have everything?
It explains also the remembrances of past lives-mainly children-and birth marks onthe body, from previous lives. Some hypnotists can make you regress to past lives and cure you of strange diseases,do you know?
It is not a question ofbelief:it's facts!Scientific ones that have been experienced...http://childrenpastlives.com

When the Bible clearly tells us that the things we do are the "fruits" of the sin nature we all possess. Be we, Saved or Unsaved?

I am home a lone on a Friday night, which is not unusual, and i was wondering about spirituality. i resently asked another question, and I feel that i am agnostic. I believe in evolution, and that there is a good chance our body regenerates into the soil. But i also believe there could be a higher power, but no one knows the real truth until they get there. When you want to learn more about spirituality, where do you look? I don't want to go to a church, i am not religious. But are there any good books? How do i learn more and explore my spirituality?

My sister's boyfriend is Jewish, but wasn't born into a Jewish family. He studied different religions and decided that was that one for him...so he studies and practices being Jewish, he's told me some about what he has studied. He celebrates Hannakah and everything (I don't know much about Judaism...so I don't know what else he does) Anyway...My real question -> He's only 16 and my husband says that in order to be really Jewish, he has to go to the synagogue and study books and take a special Jewish test. But, I thought that was only for Catholics. I consider myself Christian...but I never had to go a take a special "Jesus test"...what do you all think - Jewish or not??

I asked this yesterday when Y/A had a "technical glitch" that caused the actual posting of all questions to be delayed by about half an hour, so I am asking again. I am prepared for some ridicule (hopefully I won't get too much)!
Here is the thought that I am currently wondering: Many Western parents (not I!) encourage their children to believe in Santa Claus, the Easter bunny, the tooth fairy, etc. Do you suppose that continual let-down during childhood might lead to cynicism, which might lead to a lack of faith in God?

Over a thousand years ago, Christians were thrown to lions, burned alive, and murdered in the streets. No one was allowed to read a bible because only the priests could. Millions of people died horrible deaths over a lone period of time.
Now, we don't say the pledge because it has "under God." There is no prayer in school. People get called Jesus Freaks and are sometimes beat up. Oh, and lets not forget, sometimes a Christian's beliefs are called into question. People, especially on here, call it religious persecution, and its a sign of the end times. Can any Christians explain why NOW its a sign of the end times when it's not half as bad as it was?
