If you truly and sincerely mean it as a blessing, then I see no problem with it. (I'm a pagan.) There can be no harm to come from truly wishing someone to be blessed. If, however, you use it as a greeting without special meaning or use it sarcastically (yes, I've heard it) then there is probably a conflict with your stated beliefs.

Some people do choose to write G-d instead, though, in respect to those who don't think you should write the name out (this comes from the Jewish tradition). But that's just a choice some people make.

Some people feel threatened by religious speech, beliefs, or practices. Usually that's where we get an argument going from.

no i definitely would not object to someone saying that to me. God Bless You! God Bless America! where has all that gone? 2 years after sept. 11, 2001 we already forget about what happened? everywhere you went you saw God Bless America, on bars, clubs, churches, stores, signs, billboards, EVERYWHERE! its been over 5 years and that is all gone! is God only useful when we are wounded? what about when everything is just fine? God is still there whether it is a good or bad time. GOD BLESS YOU!

You should say whatever you want to say. If you are not saying it to be mean I do not see what the problem is. The only issue I may take with it, and this is coming from a Roman Catholic, is the statement sounds like you are ordering God to do something. I think the best way to say it is, May God Bless You.

Maybe it really all depends on where you address your question.

To the Christians: God bless you.

To Buddhists : Buddha bless you.

To Muslims: Peace be with you/ Peace.

To Jedi: The force be with you.

If you have your email address listed, I would say that's going to be an invitation to hearing a whole lot of odd things. Nothing wrong with giving a blessing.

No not at all, some people are just offended by it for some reason. Probably because they don't believe that God exists. I believe in him. So God Bless You Too!!

It's a nice thing but usually people think you're talking down to them when you do that.As if you think you the power to invoke God's blessing on someone.Besides what if you" bless" a perv and not know it? you would wish that on them would you?I would only say that to another Christian if I were you.
