Hey,

I've noted a lot of Christians seem to renounce the occult, and I want to know why [Don't quote.].

From my experience, those converts from the occultic areas were like Wiccans, or dabblers. They never got past the concept of "Do your thing, and you get stuff!" Then as soon as the kitchen got a little warm, they ran liek Hell.

I'm not trying to be rude, but most of their knowledge comes from outside sources, that are all biased.

Also, a lot of the Ex-Wiccans seem to be more along the lines of the fluffies, who cry because they cursed someone, and it rebounded. Why? You were a Wiccan, you had a tenet saying not to do that, so of course it came back.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, please, stop thinking about it merely in terms of, "OMG, I do teh spellz and I get teh stuff!"

Most of your converts were dabblers who didn't study enough before trying, or joining a group, or were Christians who wanted attention, so they jumped on the band wagon.

Thanks,

Yes, there is, read the second line. It is a question, in a different form, as it isn't direct.

n9wff,

I am not unclean. I have no guilt. Why do I need the blood of a man then?

hisglory, ok.

I don't know any witches. All this time, I thought I knew myself. Thanks for telling me I am not me.

From the bits they point out, they appear to have stopped at, "You may need to face your fears."

Hear, Hear. I feel sorry for those who stopped after studying the "entry-level" part of the Craft without moving on to the true transcendental Hermetic arts because they feared they had "opened a door they couldn't close" or something like that. But maybe it's just as well, if they can't handle it I would rather they "find jesus" or something. But still, imagine being moved to abject terror by new-agers or a coven that works with faeries and leprechauns, pitiful.

I have yet to meet a convert from Wicca to Christianity - but I have met plenty of converts from Christianity to Wicca.

Now, is there a question in there somewhere, or are you just looking for a soapbox?

Most of their comments comes from ignorance, and I'm not saying that to be rude. It's true. They do not educate themselves about it because they're told it's wicked and they shouldn't go anywhere near it. So they believe that and choose not to educate themselves further, but that doesn't stop them from talking about it with their misinformation.

You obviously don't know a surfeit of real witches. There are more people on this site that have gone deep into the occult than you will ever know about. They only allow you to know their past if they feel that it's relevant. I'm not even one of them and I know you don't know what you're talking about. So get off your high horse and start listening to people who care about your immortal soul.
