Because as soon as you try,, someone starts calling you names or trashes your belief...
Which is insulting and rude..

Some people just dont have the open minds or respect any more.

If I want someone to teach me, then I will go there; but, don't take it upon yourself when not asked. This web site is a venue for people to ask questions (far fetched as some can be), and then answered in some form or fashion. If you feel the need to spread the word, then go to questions where you feel people need your kind of answers. Answers are ideas, knowledge, wisdom, and beliefs -- to name a few. Hopefully, respect is learned in some of those answers.

Don't get me wrong -- I do agree with you in the aspect of the need for more love and respect in this world than there seems to presently be.

You want truth? I'll give you alittle truth. We KILL each other over names for GOD. You hate me because I love Jesus and you love Allah. Wake up we all worship the same supreme being. Every religion I know of tells of an all mighty creater of all heaven and earth and everything in between the almighty is neither man nor woman, black or white, young or old GOD is all of that and more and until the people of this world understand that we are destine to live in a world of hate.

Okay, - great idea. I am a Muslim. Not a born Muslim but a converted one (12 years now). Both my Dad and Grandfather are Christians Ministers. I joined Islam because I thought it was so peaceful and pure. All my opinion - but I believe just that. Although the media does allow positive images of Islam (and so many keep playing into the stereotype that all Muslims are radical). All untrue. Those "Muslim" that participate in violence have misinterpreted the Quran.

what: This is an ideal that you have. Most people will not allow scientific evidence to prove the existence of a Creator both, on the "religious" side nor the atheistic side. It is similar to politics, to draw a better analogy. I have seen ABSOLUTE scientific research presented by some of the posters on this site, to prove his or her own point and be "voted" down by the viewers on both sides of the fence. Those convinced against their will, ARE of the SAME mind still !!!

You assume facts not in evidence when you say "learn the truth." It is almost a lie to speak about the unknown with claims to truth. Hard for me to respect that, sorry.

Ummm....

That was the idea for this section, wasn't it? People ask questions about religions, and others who know, who practice answer them.

Problem is.... we got folks who feel this is a forum to preach in, while others see this as a perfect opportunity to spread intolerance.

Nice try!

Sounds good, but probably everybody will fight more.
Look, if different religions are all zealous for their God, hey, thats great. Whats horrible is when someone does not make a stand for the God they believe in. The do-nothings. Those that would rather be politically correct and just not rock the boat.
If you believe in your God, and you refuse to be flexible about it, you're doing it right.
