ok my question is about lord krishna.. i know that he is a prophet in hinduism..

however, could he have sent from god?

"And certainly We sent messengers before you; there are some of them that We have mentioned to you and there are others whom we have not mentioned to you"

"Of some messengers we have already told thee the story;
of others we have not...."

or is there no way He could have been?

He said "This generation will not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." Matthew 24:34

Referring to the following predictions:
The sun and moon will darken, the stars will fall from the sky, the power of the heavens will be shaken, the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, the tribes of the earth will mourn, they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven. and he will send his angels to gather his elect from the four winds.
Matthew 24:29-34

He said "The son of Man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels...There will be some standing here which shall not taste of death till they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom." Matthew 16:27,28 and Luke 9:27

Why did he say it would happen in that generation, and that some of his listeners would still be alive?

Many many generations have come and gone, the predictions remain unfulfilled.

Before anyone starts insulting me or argueing, let me state that I AM NOT SAYING THAT GOD OR ANY OTHER POWER DOES EXIST. I dont have the knowledge or evidence to prove his/its existence.

I am just making a point that I read in a book once. In order to prove that something DOES exist, you only need one solid piece of proof. But to prove that something DOESNT exist, you have to erase every single possibility that it could possibly exist somewhere. Since its impossible to do that, you have to have faith in the idea that it doesnt exist. But since Athiesm (from what I have read) is a lack of faith, then...well...that doesnt quite work out.

If you have a GENUINE arguement, please make it. Im not a hard-core believer. Im just repeating what I have read, and looking for a response to it. If you plan on making meaningless comments with nothing to back them up, please dont bother. Im not your point pimp.

I have some troubling recurring dreams Id like to get an idea of what they mean.

One is, if I am near water, like an ocean, and I look at it, a tidal wave will come. Another is if I see an airplane, it will crash. I dont think they have anything to do with recent world events since I have had them since I was a child (and Im 30) Id really like to know if they mean something and how to get rid of them.

The Pharisees asked questions not for answers but to try to trap Jesus and accuse him, sound familiar.
They also go away grumbling and choking on their own venom, certainly they are a brood of vipers.
The Pharisee asked trusting in their own wisdom, quoting scripture, presenting difficulties all in an effort to trap Jesus and crucify him or kill him, just like these people.
Whenever they get answers they get angry and run away with their tails between theri legs, and put thumbs down on the most obviously correct answers and thumbs up on things that are noit even answers but just say something stupid or meanspirited.
I find myself laughing sometimes at their almost blind pathology, they follow a routine they are ot even awar of , it is like watching someone who is not aware you are watching. I learn lessons in human psychology from them, while they accuse us of being blind followers by rote, they are trluy exactly what they say we are while we exhibit every sign of independt thought

Why would anybody feel joy or even peace from someone else's death? tyrant or not, murderer or not, deserve to live or not, if your God says that he's the only judge and the only one who can decide when life ends, why does the US who brags about being a "christian" nation, feel like they have the right to take someone's life ( even if they deserved to die)?

PS: I'm atheist and I still feel it's wrong.

The Hadith

(Bukhari vol. IV, no. 516)
"Satan lives in the upper part of the nose all night."

(Muslim vol 1, no. 462)
Abu Haraira reported: The apostle of Allah said, "When any one of you wakes up from your sleep and performs abulation, he must clean his nose three times, for the devil spends the night in the interior of his nose."

Okay, let me explain:

1. I'm currently a Reform Protestant.
2. I tend to believe that Jesus is the son of God, but I am not entirely sure about that.
3. I do not believe in Hell, but I do believe in Heaven or possibly reincarnation.
4. I believe in a religion of deed, not a religion of faith.
5. I am a liberal Democrat.
6. I strongly believe that there is, in fact, a God (or Godess).

Based on those things, what religion do you think I would best fit into (if you need more information, please provide some questions for me to answer and I will). Thanks for your help!

I am new to this site and I am amazed at the amount of anger and disrespect aimed towards christians in general. I have read many of the answers, posted by non-believers, and I am astonished at the anger and ignorance. I have never forced my religion on anyone, nor have I ever looked down upon anyone for not being a believer. I want the same respect you do and prob the same things. Yes I believe in the bible and I believe in love and forgiveness. Am I perfect? No. Do I expect others to be perfect? No. I know there are bad apples in every part of society, christian, muslim, whatever. Why are christians picked on so much? Is it fear? Or is it because you have not found anyone that will stand up and say something? I am curious, I just do not understand the anger.

Imagine this ape walking upright. It would look a helluva lot like a homo sapien. Why would "God" make apes look so much like humans and give us all the other evidence for evolution if he wanted us to believe the Adam and Eve story? www.godisimaginary.com
