I would say that he is the best friend a person could have. He sent his son to give us all a second chance at living. I would say that he's here whenever you need him, and he wants the best for you. Some people believe this, and some hate this advice, but life is almost pointless without God in it. I would say too that He made the world, and he's sad to see many dying and he hates to see the world living in poverty!
Anyways sorry for the long answer

I believe there is a higher power and if you want to name it god or something else that is ok. I would say the principles that are taught in the bible are a good way to live and most religions practice the same ones. I don't believe god is as cruel and punishing as a lot of religions say.
He does work in mysterious ways though.
I make plans and god laughs.

I would say that in 'most'-cultures, God/s have been created in Mans-image.

I believe that God/s are usually a good 'externalization' that can 'allow' some-people to use for doing things with the power of their own mind, that they just can't/won't accept that they-themselves are capable of doing, therefore, they 'give' a God/s the power to do these types of things, so that it 'seems' more 'possible' to them.

However, as a 'factual'-matter.

I feel that (most) religions are 'made-up' to attempt to explain the way the world works,... in a similar manner to what Science does,... whereas Science is based on experimentation and 'proofs',... most (if-not-all) 'Religions' are not. IMO

It is easy to prove to yourself that God is imaginary.

The evidence is all around you.

How do we know that Christians are delusional?

Remember the song by Joanne Osbourne...One of ús? Yeah, what if God has a name? would it make a difference to all religions who have other names for their gods?

The original bible scrolls actually speaks of God's name more than 7000 times, sadly it has been removed or replaced with Lord...but lord and god are just titles not names, same as we are humans, we are not called humans but we are called by our names.

If someone asks me what I believe about God, Id say he has a name, Yhwh (hebrew), transliterated as Yahweh...and in english Jehovah, (Yehova, Yehowa,Iehowa in other languages).

It is the name that Jesus taught us to sanctify in the Lord's prayer.

Hmm, that's a touchy subject.

I guess it depends who is asking. I'd probably try to dodge the question instead of running the risk of offending someone.

My views on the matter are pretty complicated and I'm trying to restrain myself from going off on a rant about them. :)

I'd tell them I couldn't put into words my actualfeelings about God, because there are no words that can adequately convey the love and respect I have for my creator.

God may be around, but He may not be. He may exist, but He may not. We cannot tell in life, and none of us know what we can tell in death. But of all things, whatever we make of God is there. Whether we believe or not is a matter of choice, and if you choose not to believe, He is not there in your eyes.

I'd say that God is everything, with no form, but is comprised of all the energy in the universe and beyond.

That he was made in the image of man, by man, for man. Honestly, this deity is an explanation for things that humans can not explain.

I believe we have a creator, I believe he sent his son, Jesus to this earth to save us and I believe in heaven and hell.
