I am new to this site and I am amazed at the amount of anger and disrespect aimed towards christians in general. I have read many of the answers, posted by non-believers, and I am astonished at the anger and ignorance. I have never forced my religion on anyone, nor have I ever looked down upon anyone for not being a believer. I want the same respect you do and prob the same things. Yes I believe in the bible and I believe in love and forgiveness. Am I perfect? No. Do I expect others to be perfect? No. I know there are bad apples in every part of society, christian, muslim, whatever. Why are christians picked on so much? Is it fear? Or is it because you have not found anyone that will stand up and say something? I am curious, I just do not understand the anger.

Just think of it like a tornadoe or hurricane
In the center of the storm there's peace;that's where christians are at the center
on the outer swirling rim is the storm;that's non-believers
non-believers are circling christians like vultures waiting to see what were going to do,waiting to see if they can devour us.
So you could say there watching us to see if what we say is true and if we live what we say; or if were full of BS.
Live the life christ wants you to and you'll begin to find it easier to ignore the fools that have hatred towards christians.

Being Christian does not mean you are unintelligent or a bigot. The problem here in this forum is the radical few who seem very close-minded and ignorant (Christian and non). If you want to see the group that is most often "picked on" look into those questions regarding Wicca or witchcraft. Why do so many Christians automatically assume that we worship the devil? We don't believe in the devil so why would we worship him? If someone is going to judge us perhaps they should find out what we are truly about. Wiccans accept you for who you are, not what you believe. I also believe that is the way everyone should be, and somehow I think maybe that's the way you are. I have many Christian friends (one is a pastor) and they are truly decent people. I also have friends who are Buddhist, Muslim, Jewish & even an athiest or 2. I refuse to judge anyone based on what they believe because I believe there is good in everyone. Some people just like to stir things up and create bad feelings. Don't take them too seriously. The only thing you will get out of those discussions is a headache!

Good question.
It will always be this way. Part of the persecution Jesus said would happen. You shouldn't be amazed at all. Look at how Hollywood portrays Christians; bumbling hillbilly uneducated idiots which is totally false to every christian I know. People from Darkness do not like the light! It shows their sin.
My thoughts are if these people in some small way hear the gospel it's then possible for the holy spirit to convict them. That's up to God and the person.
Speak the truth with kindness and ignore ignorance and you'll do fine on this site...

Some Christians make all the others look bad. No one likes being told they are going to burn in hell forever just because they do not believe the same as you. I have known Christians that walk their talk but they are few and far between. It is just like anything else people only remember the bad stuff not the good. Just like my chosen path has been demonized by all of the book religions as evil and hateful when nothing farther from the truth. I am Pagan and we are not what most would have you think so I can relate to your question. Just keep on being a person who lives by what he preaches and people will see you are not a hypocrite.

Please understand that nonbelievers have been criticized and proselytized repeatedly and angrily on this site.
You are not necessarily unintelligent. You may know, however, people who are unintelligent in their faith, turning every religious question into an opportunity to regurgitate something they've heard repeatedly from the pulpit. You may not be trying to suppress science, medical research, or education in the US. Those who do usually have problems with their reasoning faculties.
You are not necessarily a bigot. You may find it quite acceptable for Gay people to have the equal rights with heterosexual people. Many Christians do so.
Any anger is a blanket covering either fear, pain, or frustration. If I ever come across as angry, it is usually because someone has closed their ears and mind, frustrating me, or called me a "f*gg*t" or something similar, which smarts when I read it.
If this does not describe your form of Christianity, I rejoice. And I hope, indeed you are not unintelligent nor bigot.

no one is perfect, i know. when i first came to this site i was amazed at the way people thought about muslims and felt the same way you do. but then i realized that no matter how much i explain most will believe what they want to. there's chrisitans vs muslims, hindus vs muslims, muslims vs athiests, athiests vs christians, and so many other arguments going on here every single day. a lot of people try to push their beliefs on others. a lot of religious people try to preach their religion to others saying that others are false, and then the non-believers try to mock, disrespect, or disprove their religion. christians are not picked on alone. looking at so many comments, i would say the most misunderstood is islam.
and i'm not talking about everyone. there are also many people who are very respectful of eachother.

A bigot has no rational reason to be against somebody. additionally, bigots are against human beings for in simple terms being human beings. Christians, on the different hand, could(and that i say could, definite, there are those in Christendom who're hateful and prejudiced) be against the sin, no longer the sinner. I truly have no longer something against gays. I see them as sinners who decide on repentance and salvation in simple terms like every physique else. What I hate is the existence-variety that they prepare. the adaptation is that I have not have been given any reason to for my section attack a guy or woman. i can not attack, kill, or fairly be hateful in the direction of a gay, in simple terms as i can not do such issues to an adulterer, a liar, or a assassin.

I don't think it's useful to see youself as a victim. Other peoples anger and disrespect shows thier passion for the subject. Use it as an opportunity to express your own views.

rejoice and be exceedingly glad when you are persecuted, so were the Christians persecuted before you, Great is your reward in heaven. we are in the world but not of the world, therefore the
world hates us, just as it hated Jesus when he walked on this earth. I dont believe in religion because its man made and carnel I am a Christian and love God with all my heart be a great soldier for Christ and dont let them upset you,have sympathy for them

Satan doesn't like Christians, so he works through everyone else to attack Christians. If you stand up for Jesus Christ, then all of the non Christians will try and do whatever they can to make you fall, or others not believe.
