Is this an attempt to discriminate against "grey" people......
Haven't we already got enough critisms going on around here to keep us occupied !?

I don't know why lazy people do it, but I'm utterly unconcerned about projecting an image.
In some instances avatars may bias me against considering what people have actually written, and that's a pity.
Admittedly, with experience, certain avatars do take on the status of "warning labels", so I suppose they can be of occasional benefit.

well maybe they feel like having a grey headed avatar and don't want anything else it's not about laziness it might be a bout preference

I don't see how it would have any bearing on the content of their question or answer. If they don't think there is any value in creating one that is just fine with me. It hardly influences my opinion about the quality of what they are writing. This is an incredibly foolish question by someone who is probably incredibly shallow.

perhaps they dont know any better. teach them! I have to admit, I still haven't figured out how to have a picture like yours instead of this avatar chick (who is mighty fine, but still). I have looked, but can't figure out how to import a picture- help a sister out!

That was the first thing I wanted to do, to add some color to my grey head.
