The Pharisees asked questions not for answers but to try to trap Jesus and accuse him, sound familiar.
They also go away grumbling and choking on their own venom, certainly they are a brood of vipers.
The Pharisee asked trusting in their own wisdom, quoting scripture, presenting difficulties all in an effort to trap Jesus and crucify him or kill him, just like these people.
Whenever they get answers they get angry and run away with their tails between theri legs, and put thumbs down on the most obviously correct answers and thumbs up on things that are noit even answers but just say something stupid or meanspirited.
I find myself laughing sometimes at their almost blind pathology, they follow a routine they are ot even awar of , it is like watching someone who is not aware you are watching. I learn lessons in human psychology from them, while they accuse us of being blind followers by rote, they are trluy exactly what they say we are while we exhibit every sign of independt thought

The question is do you agree?
Do you find yourslef thinking the same ?
Do you realize how close in spirit and behavior they are to the Pharisees?
Thengo read some of Jesus descriptions of the Pharisees and learn who you are
dealing with.
Pharisees were very logical and legal, very exacting, swallowing whole camels(evolution, bigbangscience) and straining at a gnat(creator), men who loved praise and the attention. What do you think?

I hope everyone knows gargoyle is a fake and not a reverend. I think he is a homosexual. Sourely you know that anyone can say things they want up here without proof.
But the best sign of a man of God is the testimony that comes out of him, since gargoyle is not preaching the word but moderr politically correct junk that people try to trap your conscience in , as Martiun Luthr taught the pope with his man laws bound men consceiences to feel guilt yabout things they shouldn't, making their own laws outside of the word of God, for surely Christ did not accept everything and was not universally or absolutely tolerant, but selectively tolerant. He iwsely approves God will and reject ssatan. I say Gargoyl by its very avatar is a devil pervert. Because diverstoiy and tolerance is the doctrine of perverts.

I think you're right. And the Spirit of God gave specific directions on this, saying in 2 Timothy 2:23-26 "But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all [men], apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And [that] they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will."

Well I agree kinda, but the big difference is, that the Pharisees werent Atheists, they believed in God but believed "their way" and didnt believe Jesus. What they were like, as well as the Saducees, are many professed "Christians" today who would much rather believe what makes sense to them or what their Pastors tell them than what Jesus said. Notice if you will, none of those questioning Jesus were claiming there is no God, but they were simply thinking they knew the answers to everything about God. Jesus was rather nasty to them by the way.

If you don't respect people who ask questions, I don't understand why you would use words like "pathology" and state that you "learn lessons in human psychology from them". Discoveries in the science of psychology came from people who questioned everything, just like the Pharisees. How did Jesus deal with the Pharisees, by the way? Did he answer their questions? Mock them? Study them? What was the reaction, exactly? I'm curious.

As a Christian Reverend... I'm concerned about your post, and your fate.

One of the basic elements of Christs teachings is tolerance and acceptance - something that is not displayed in your post.

Intolerance is in direct contradiction of Jesus Christ's message of love one another... that is an unconditional love.

Although some may choose different paths, everyone is entitled to salvation.

Please do not claim to know the Gods' laws...

The bible states 'Judgment is mine , sayeth the Lord'...

To make judgment, as you have, is to deny the teachings of the Bible.

Please read the good book, before making dangerous and unseemly statements.

Matthew 5:20
20For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

sounds like even jesus had some respect for these pharasees of whom you speak. what i would like to know is why do christians put the thumbs down (hahah, this is so juvenile, but whatever) on me whenever i quote their book?

I don't find it funny because we are talking about people's souls. But I think you meant funny in an ironic sort of way.

But you are right, most of the atheist's questions are not intended to do anything except belittle and entrap us.

It is very funny. Unbelievers not only NOT play devil's advocate, but just play as ignoramuses. The devil knows God exists and only tries to bring Him down. You see, even the devil call atheists stupid.

well as an agnostic i'm gonna throw something back at you as i have noticed that christians speak up on things that they don't know anything about as well as try to mock somebody's beliefs just to make themselves feel superior so why is it that you go around spitting your venom on people who don't believe or feel as you do that makes you just as guilty as the people who you claim to be mocking and making fun of you now doesn't it
