I live in Utah, and I've been surrounded by Mormons my whole life. I'm thinking of looking into their church more. Does anyone have information on the Mormons? By the way, I'd love REAL information, not just opinion. Thanks.....

Get a copy of the Book of Mormon and pray diligently, asking if you can receive a testimony as to the truth of the book by the power of the Holy Ghost as you read, and you'll be answered.

Mormons are Christians, (Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints) despite what you might have been told in Salt Lake City by Mormon bashers. :)

Oh, and be careful what "ex-Mormons" tell you and what sites they point you to. There's a heck of a lot of lies and misinformation out there. God won't steer you wrong, though, so I'd really suggest reading and praying!

Your best bet to get good information would be to contact the missionaries of the LDS church in your area. They have access to all the brocures, pamplets, and book of Mormons you could ever want. They will also come to your home and talk with you about the church, and they are more than happy to answer any questions you have. In my opinion, the mormon church (I attended for quite a few years) has it's pros and cons, which you'll have to look into for yourself. But, I will tell you that I really like the fact that there is no preacher or pastor getting paid. People in the church do it for free. Just be prepared, you may not hear it as much in Utah, but a lot of people hate mormons and won't hesitate to hide that hate.

Here are to VERY good sites to go to.
lds.org, allaboutmormons.com

But one of the best ways is to have the Missionaries come to your house. If you aren't sure about that then just talk to any member or any leader of a ward near you.

Here also is the Jesus that we believe in.

Our beliefs about the Godhead "are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner [stone]." (The Holy Bible, Ephesians 2:20)
Using the apostolic and prophetic teachings as our base, Latter-day Saints believe in the Jesus who was the preexistent Word of the Father; that was the Father of heaven and earth, the Creator of all things from the beginning; that was the God of Abraham , Isaac, and Jacob; that was the Only Begotten Son of God who was born to the virgin Mary in the town of Bethlehem; that was baptized by John; that healed the sick and raised the dead, that walked on water, multiplied loaves and fishes, and performed many other miracles; that set a perfect example for mankind to emulate and that all men and women are commanded to follow his teachings and example in all things.
We believe that Jesus suffered in the garden and on the cross, until he finally died as a willing sacrifice for mankind in order to bring about an infinite atonement through the shedding of his blood. After his death, we believe that he was physically resurrected and that he ascended into the heavens, from which he will come at the end of this world to establish his kingdom upon the earth and eventually to judge both the living and the dead. We believe Jesus is and was the Holy Messiah, the Savior and Redeemer of the world and all those who will follow him. Finally, we believe in the Jesus who is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting himself unto all nations.

They are Christians and more than willing to share their ideas with you. You can find an LDS website on line. Just do a google or yahoo search. I have worked with one for 5 years and they are very family based and sincere. They are still human and make mistakes just like everyone else. All in all one of the less destruction branches of the tree of religion I would say.

I would recommend reading their Gospel Principles manual. It's located on-line at the official church website (the link is listed in the "sources" section). You'll get a sense of their basic beliefs regarding various topics. The most interesting is chapter 47 - Exaltation.

Well, you may not like this, but here's a site about a few of their teachings. As an ex-Mormon, I can vouch for the accuracy of the information.

Good luck.

they are a group of people who have strong religious beliefs and strong moral values. although i don't agree with the doctrine that they teach, they do seem to be a sincere group of people. in my opinion from what i have studied, their doctrine is very questionable.
