I seem to notice that there is a connection between the two, but yet there seems to also be a distinction between the two as well. Could someone explain this to me?

Dear Skywolf,

Jesus (God) has many different names. It would take about a page to list them all but let me address the question you asked. Jesus is the Son of God and this name is trferring to His deity--He is God. The name, "son of man" is His name to identify with us. God who is Almighty, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, and Holy humbled Himself and became man. Furthermore, this holy, righteous, and just God took the sins of the ones He came to save and endured the equivalent of spending eternity in hell to pay for those sins so that they could enter heaven. If you study all the different names of Christ you will get more understanding of the greatness of the Lord Jesus Christ.

No difference. They are both the same Jesus.

Since He was BORN of a woman, He is a SON OF MAN....

Since He was GIVEN by God, He is the SON OF GOD.....

The prophecy written of Him 800 years before His birth:
Isa 9:6-7
6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David's throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty
will accomplish this.
(from New International Version)

Matt 14:32-33

32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."
(from New International Version)

Mark 1:1
1:1 The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
(from New International Version)

Matthew 26:63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

The phrase "Son of Man" is a reference to Jesus' humanity, but it is not a denial of His deity.
