It can, and should, allow peaceful cooperation between people of various religions, and facilitate education about the theology and practices of various religious groups.

One of the most interesting, and important, things that has come out of the Interfaith Movement is that there are now people who are being educated to be Interfaith Ambassadors; that is, people who are well-educated about the religious practices of others, so that they can serve as a bridge between people of different faiths to prevent violence and misunderstanding.
