In the Book of Hebrews 13:1-3 we are told that some of us have entertained angels. I know in my life I have clearly felt some very dangerous situation of life and death we avoided by no doing of my own. And I just knew at that exact moment there was a divine power up and over sure death. You might say I was just lucky...But No. I was there knowing what I knew was true, and the shock and awe that I was saved for a specific purpose. I want to hear about your beliefs. For example: about 16 years ago a man I used to work with came to see me. He told me he was homicidal and I helped him get some help. It was humbling because of all the people in the world he came to me for help.I didn't see him again until I moved in across the hall from him and his wife16 years later. It was once adain a very humbling experience because I know their is some signicance here. Please share your views with me. I know this is deep, but so is the passages in Hebrews 13:1-3.

Does ur religion claim that Eve is the reason we're here on earth, or is it the one that says that it was BOTH Adam's and Eve's fault TOGETHER? Does it say "Seeking knowledge is obligatory on every man and woman" (Muhammad, pbuh), or does it say, "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience...and if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for woman to speak in the church" (1 Corinthians 14:34-35)? Or, "Keep a headstrong daughter under firm control, or she will abuse any indulgence she receives. Keep a strict watch on her shameless eye, do not be surprised if she disgraces you" (Eccl. 26:10-11)? Or "Never will I waste the work of a worker among you, whether male or female, the one of you being from the other" (Quran 3:195)? I could GO ON & on but not enough space :D!!

believes in God and an afterlife and tries to be a good person using his morals (charity, self restraint, helping, sharing etc.)

According to Islam, you have a chance of getting to our heaven :) So do ignorant pagans (who never heard of religion but tried to be good people) AND Christians and Jews that meet the above criteria (although following Quran is more preferred) Keep it up and God bless. Peace.

I don't mind their religion I just don't want to read the bible again and again.
I don't put in quotes from books I read. I mention the book and
thats it if it is pertinant to the question.

I heard an interesting story that is supposed to be an explanation for the way a whole lot of things are in the Abrahamic religions. Supposedly, God, as we know it, was not alone in the Universe, but for some reason kept the creation of our world a secret from other gods. When the other gods found out about the secret creation, they imprisoned God on our world. Out of anger and jealousy, God imposed on us that there is no god but him, and all others are false.

Has anyone else heard this story, and if so, what is the source?

when jesus spoke about "pointing out the speck in your brother's eye, when you have one in your own" I think that it means that we should worry about our own sins and if someone is sinning (being gay) then christ expects us to nothing more than remind them that they are , according to the bible, living against god's law. No one is going to hell for being gay. and no, being gay sex does not lead to other sins. so you have no need to assail homosexuality on the political level because the of the hand of providence.

If someday homosexual marriage becomes legal, do you think that more people would go to hell because of the wickedness spread by homosexuality? If you believe in a just god, you wouldn't think so.

what do you think?

I'm a little confused probably because I was brought up catholic and went to the jewish community center when I was young. But I think their might be a God but I am not convinced that Jesus was the messiah. During the whole priest scandles I stopped attending church, I became an ordained minister of the universal life church. This has made me form more questions that I am confused about.

In Revelation 2:2 we read; I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

These seven letters to these seven Churches, I believe, is to each one of our advantages, to remember "Two" things about them.

(1) I believe they are a "Picture" of Seven Representative Church’s, which, one or more you can find in any age, in any period of history, of the Church, (from its Beginning to it's Calling Out) and every Church in the world today will fall into one or more of these categories of Churches. And even You and I will fit into one of these, ourselves!

(2) The second thing to remember is the "Prophetic" nature of these letters. For they are a "Preview" of the entire Church Age, falling into Seven periods of time, from the birth of the Church, to the coming of our Lord Jesus at the Rapture.

I mean actually sat down with a copy and read it to themselves.

People who have actually read it and made their own interpretation of it, not what some man preaches to you.

You may say yea you this question, but really think about it, have you? HAVE YOU?

I doubt you actually have.

my conversion to Buddhism? She wasn't really raised religious, but in her adult life she's a Christian. One of my best friend's is also Christian and it seems she doesn't accept me either, like making little side jokes about it. I don't want to stereotype, but it seems they're trying to make it true. I try to have conversations with my mother, like a few days ago, but she'll just ignore me. I converted this summer and I'm 16 years old. I think I'm old enough to make personal decisions like that for myself.
