I heard an interesting story that is supposed to be an explanation for the way a whole lot of things are in the Abrahamic religions. Supposedly, God, as we know it, was not alone in the Universe, but for some reason kept the creation of our world a secret from other gods. When the other gods found out about the secret creation, they imprisoned God on our world. Out of anger and jealousy, God imposed on us that there is no god but him, and all others are false.

Has anyone else heard this story, and if so, what is the source?

Never heard that one before, and as a Christian I'll talk about God to most people I meet. But that's a new one to me.

Nope. Went to Sunday School for many years...never heard that one. I do know that Christians believe that Lucifer was cast out of Heaven for leading a rebellion and the Earth became his Satan's) domain. So, maybe he's the one who's bound to the world.

Wow, this is going on my watchlist.

I have heard of the christian god as being extremely jealous, and I'll stick around to see some answers.

Awesome question.

I read it on internet once. It was that there were seven other god's. Our known god the strongest of all but them all together would be stronger then our one god. so god made this earth and you know the rest. forgot the web's name though

No, never heard of it. But it sounds as lame as all the other God stories.
