I don't mind their religion I just don't want to read the bible again and again.
I don't put in quotes from books I read. I mention the book and

Excellent question. I have no problem with people's beliefs, but if there are tons of bible verses I just move on and don't bother to read anymore.

It depends on the question. If, as there are some in the Religion and Spiritualitly section, a question concerning the bible or Christian beliefs, then I don't mind it. It's appropriate. Likewise, if the question was on Islam, Buddist beliefs or Shinto beliefs and someone answered by quoting their holy book or reference, I wouldn't mind it.

If the question is "How is your day" and you get a page and a half of bible quotes, that's too much.

I agree with you, but if you are asking questions on religion, well, sure people will quote the bible. Me...well I couldn't quote anything from the bible if there was a million dollars in it for me!!

It does no good to quote a verse people do not understand, it is way better to offer a explanation of the verse to the question they ask.

Biblical (or Qur'anic) quotes can be useful in moderation. Too much, or a response of mostly quotes, is irritating. However, I encourage people to support their opinions with quotes which pertain to the subject at hand.

It is a bother. Sometimes I wonder if I should have read their answer, but when I see quotations, I just skip it because I had asked for their answers not just an advertisement for their belief system.

I will never quote the bible whenever I answer one of your questons--promise.

And I do understand your irritation. You ask a question to get a person response from someone--not a quote.

Sure it bugs me, but one has to be somewhat tolerant in a free society of other's ideas and opinions. You can't tell people how to respond.

You want answers? They are found in the Bible. You want fairy stories and half-truths, speculations, surmisings and out-right lies? Go to anywhere else, and you'll get some of each.
