Can faith justify devoting your life to other gods? Or to eating only green jello? Or can faith, which justifies teaching your ideas to children, telling other people they are sinners and how to live their lives, and even push for legislation to do so, justify the holy act of purchasing air time on Saturday morning to run adds explaining that Santa isn't real? Faith is the bottom line for most people, not fairness or benevolence. Do you consider faith the bottom line even if someone's faith disagrees with yours?

I believe I already have an answer for this below. I was just wanting to check and see if anyone else had any knowledgable comments.

I have heard many people comment on this subject including some Muslims. Some of the answers I've been told include:

(1) They are allowed any alcohol from sources other than grapes and grains; (2) They are allowed to drink anything, but not in excess; and (3) It's the idea that counts and they are not allowed any at all, regardless of where it came from;

There was also a 4th response which I believe to be the true one, there are many denominations and interpretations of the religious beliefs and some are more strict than others.

Now I know that christians believe you are saved through grace and not through works, but Isaiah 58:6 - 10 says ...

ok this is just a question for those that think Santa is a form of Satan and thus is evil.

by using that logic, that would mean God is some kind of Dog?

note: this is only directed at those as stated above. i work at a christian daycare, and i was told we arent allowed to have any kind of santa things there cause rearranged it means satan. =\

I am a Catholic I believe in God and follow His teachings and try not to offend people but in R & S I asked a question which offended a lot of people so posted another question and asked Will you please accept my apology and 2 days later my apology question was removed. I lost 10 points
Why was my question removed it was not offensive while other people can swear and ask very stupid offensive questions and get away with it?

anyone who believes in god.....if evolution, or some other theory besides there being a god, was proven true and god did not exist what would u do? would u still believe in god? would u all cower to antarctica because you would feel so ashamed of preaching your false beliefs? i really wanna know what u would do if it was proved? leave me negative comments calling me nasty things because i think your all retarded and crazy for believing something so SO stupid. i dont care.

...to question other people's religion. I mean, you always see questions on here that are really meant to degrade someone because they believe in this or that... Who do they think they are? I presume this was in response to an answer I gave to a question which asked something along the lines "do you know god" or some such. I responded with the observation that given the incredible amount of suffering and injustice in this world, that if there was a god that was in any way interested in our species, then he/she/it was one mean sadistic bastard.
Now i have to put with some lamebrain threatening to pray for my salvation........and to be careful what I say about this god of theirs.
If this god was the all loving dude that so many suggest he is, then I would be forgiven, or do you suppose that this "Jen" actually agrees with me by supposing that the "big tough guy" is going to get heavy with me for dissing him?.
How could a mere mortal possibly offend a god? Unless it was a petty mini god with a personality disorder.

by different people @ different time periods then how could u believe any of it to be true? first of all, how did moses write genesis and the other books, because it think it would be hard to write a story about my own death dont you? and the bible was written years upon years apart so by the time it was completely finished one of the "writters" had to have been a family member of some1 who "saw" like jesus and other events fro mthe bible, and what if this person just said this story is boring im gonna spice it up a bit. or maybe the bible is just part of some SUPER secret society and it was just people who got together based on one event, we'll say jesus and his doings, and wrote a story made up a beginning because there was no science to prove otehrwise and everything was about gods @ the time, and made up a dramatic type ending, you know jesus is crucified and rises from the dead, and so on, why couldnt these be possible? i know i know the bible IS gods word says the christians.....
