by different people @ different time periods then how could u believe any of it to be true? first of all, how did moses write genesis and the other books, because it think it would be hard to write a story about my own death dont you? and the bible was written years upon years apart so by the time it was completely finished one of the "writters" had to have been a family member of some1 who "saw" like jesus and other events fro mthe bible, and what if this person just said this story is boring im gonna spice it up a bit. or maybe the bible is just part of some SUPER secret society and it was just people who got together based on one event, we'll say jesus and his doings, and wrote a story made up a beginning because there was no science to prove otehrwise and everything was about gods @ the time, and made up a dramatic type ending, you know jesus is crucified and rises from the dead, and so on, why couldnt these be possible? i know i know the bible IS gods word says the christians.....

Not to be cruel, Stephanie, but your question isn't entirely clear. I'll try to give some insights to what I percieve are some of your questions.

1. Obviously someone finished up the accounts of Moses' death in the first 5 books of the OT. Does that diminish or disprove that Moses wrote the majority of those books (called the Pentateuch)?

2. The scriptures were not written at the same time. The New Testament church had copies of the Pentateuch and the majority of what we now call the Old Testament. It was called the "Septuiagint." We also know from religious and secular histories that other letters became widely circulated and varying times. In other words, there is plenty of evidence and proof that the Bible was not the work of a "super-editor." The Bible is a compilation of different writers from different times that has amazingly similar characteristics. True - these books were compiled by councils, but the texts can be varified to be accurate before this compilation. Google "dead sea scrolls" for more about this.

3. Concerning Jesus - a lot of people had a lot to lose if Jesus truly rose from the grave. They knew where he was buried. They knew who his circles of influence were. They guarded the tomb with the best soldiers in the world. These were not dumb people (neither the Jews nor the Romans.)

Fact of the matter - a body was never produced, no one in the circle revealed a hoax and none of the eyewitnesses of His resurrection were ever discredited. Many, many groups have tried to this very day to discredit it...with no sucess. Don't let 2000 years cloud you....many things older than the resurrection have been verified or disproven based on much less evidence and information than the person of Jesus.

It is a huge peice of evidence that neither the Romans or the Jews produced solid information concerning the whereabouts of a body or a hoax ("DaVinci Code" and other conspiracy theories not withstanding.)

When the Dead Sea Scrools were discovered back in 1947, a complete copy of the book of Isaiah was found that was virtually identical with our present Hebrew version. That testifies to the accuracy of Jewish scribal tradition in preserving the Scripture as it was handed down through thousands of years of history. The Hebrew Scriptures were recorded over a 1400 year time period. The Greek Scriptures, or New Testament was written within a century after Christ's death and resurrection. You can see just by looking at a King James Bible how much language changes over time. The unity of concept and thought between the Old and New Testaments speaks to a supernatural Author behind them both. Keep your mind open.

You do not have all your information correct as there is proof to a non-Christian. Many things were written in the bible long before they actually happened. That is called inspiration from God or as John wrote in Revelation from visions that were given to him from God. You say you think it would be hard to write about something that hasn't happened yet - how do you think that was possible? You are very uninformed about the bible also you sound like the whole bible is about "events" of Jesus which I assume you mean his life on earth? Those I think you are referring to are the gospels of Jesus Christ which are made up of four books - Mathew, Mark, Luke and John who were living witnesses. And how do you explain what is happening now in the world that has already been predicted in the word of God?
Also I ask what do you believe in? Talk about foolish how about evolution? If you believe in the social sciences and evolution theories than you must know Darwin? He actually accepted Christ as his lord and savior and totally believed in the Bible as the truth and living word of God before he died.

No one character wrote the Bible. It is a compilation of books written through many one-of-a-kind authors. Some of the books themselves are typically compilations written through many one-of-a-kind authors (Genesis and Exodus, for instance). Some suppose Moses wrote the primary 5 books, however that is without doubt legend when you consider that writing form, vocabulary, and grammar fluctuate inside the textual content. Additionally, there are issues of regular common sense in the course of, which betrays the likelihood that the primary 5 books of the Bible had been written through many one-of-a-kind fingers. The New Testament used to be additionally written through many one-of-a-kind individuals, without doubt in the course of the primary century. However, no person has entry to the usual records, we most effective have copies of copies of copies of copies. Each of those copies are one-of-a-kind someway, so it's unimaginable to pin down precisely what the usual textual content says. We can most effective approximate what the usual textual content stated. So, in a way, the Bible used to be 'corrupted' over time of its written transmission through careless or theologically encouraged scribes. If God did certainly encourage the Bible, why did not God then maintain the usual records in order that we would recognise what they stated? My slump is that those are very human records, written through people with their possess theological, social, and cultural biases. These texts, individually, do factor to God, however they were not authored through God. Just my opinion although. Hope this is helping a little bit.

I know your not really interested in what the Bible says, but to prove your point you used it, so I will to, lets be fair okay ?I believe that the word of God is true, but man has polluted it by refusing to obey it.

it took that long to get just the 10 commandments ?
2.Do you find it strange that Isaiah knew that the earth was round
and scientist of that day thought it was flat ? Isa. 40:22

Book that only scientist in a laboratory can write today ?
4.Do you realize that if people were to do what the Bible says
we would have heaven here on earth ? It teaches morals,
manners,respect for mankind,the environment,the animals,and

Questioning in something is a way of free thinking, open mindness! Maybe you should use you open mindness to look at it from the other view. The Bible has been here for years and will remain to be here for years. That is because it is Gods word.No matter what happens, natural disater or other wise there will always be at least one Bible left in the world. God will make sure of that! Try to believe in something with out touching it! That is Faith. That is why Christians believe the Bible is Gods word because we have Faith that our Lord would not let something get "twisted up" or "added to" that is so important. This is one way He speaks to us!

many books of the bible prophecy of future events. The Persian ruler Cyrus was even named to before he was born. Babylon Destruction was for told and how. Jesus birth place and death, even the fact that his bones would not be broken, was for told hundreds of years before his birth. you come form perception men wrote the Bible the words are Gods. Its the same idea of a boss dictating a letter to a Secretary.

There is a great special on PBS that takes you from Genesis forward. The host goes all over the middle east and explains how the red sea could have been "parted". In fact the translations were off, so it was not the red sea - couldn't have been because it was not a salt water sea he "parted"...anyhow - check it out. I am a sceptic on the whole Jesus/God thing - but it shows what could have happened.

Religious people determined what went in and what didn't.

We have a contiunation of it today, it's just not officially in it!

Lots of religious people write lots of things, but religion hasn't incorproated it into the bible.

Maybe in 2000 years they might.

For one things God and Jesus are no longer active on Earth in a manifested way. There are no more burning bushes or people who walk on water.

The Bible was about these times and events.
