I know there are some hateful Christians out there, who go around telling people they are going to hell.

But I have noticed that several times when someone who is hurting is asking for prayer, that there have been numerous atheists that have to enter their hateful comments, laced with profanity. WHEN PEOPLE ARE HURTING, THEY NEED HELP, NOT INSULTS OR SOMEONE TRYING TO DESTROY THEIR FAITH AS WELL. SOME PEOPLE--FAITH IS ALL THEY HAVE.
AGREE?
NOT DIRECTED AT ALL ATHEISTS, AND I'M SURE SOME CHRISTIANS NEED TO BE PUT IN THEIR PLACE AS WELL.

This is a true story, by the way.

On his first birthday, my little granson would not try a bite of his birthdday cake. He cried and carried on thinking it was going to be something that tasted bad. Of course, we didn't push it. He hates mashed potatoes. Perhaps he thought the white frosting was mashed potatoes, or maybe it was just because he sensed we wanted him to try it, or maybe he was a little afraid to try something new.

When I was remembering this, it made me think of atheists and how they don't want to give God a try. They think we force it down their throats and it makes them irritated with us. I wanted them to see that we love them. We don't want to push. We just want them to enjoy the cake like we do. God bless everyone.

If so, what was it? Would it be foolishness to unbelievers and does it support the foundation and the resolve of your Faith? Did it change your life? Give you peace? Give you hope? Strength? How did your experience affect you the most? Are you a better person because of it?

it's one think to want to live as a group on Sunday and share the same values, but it's another thing to try and carry that mission on in society by making laws or pressing the Christian view on to others. Because this is really not a belief issue but a way of life system that not everyone shares and that is the reason people dislike the Christians, we do not want to live like you or believe as you do. We can believe in Jesus the way we want to, we don't have to believe in your system we don't and we won't. My Jesus would never approve of the Christian agenda.

I have to come up with this major decision before this year (2006) ends and I'm having trouble choosing between several possibilities. I'm a bit desperate and have been seeking guidance and for clear answers from God as which to choose. It's been on my mind for the last couple of weeks. I've talked to a priest (well actually he didn't give me an answer to my question), and then spoke to my therapist (it made me more confused). I'm very stressed about this. And quite honestly have resorted to maybe asking for a sign from God. Any suggestions/ideas on how I should go about in doing this so I know I won't make a mistake in making my decision? Thanks.

What about those who live perfect Christian lives without realising they are Christians? What about those who fill tehir lives doing good deed and being a good person but never pray and never go to church?

Also

What about those who have been SAVED but are not nice people? I know plenty of 'Christians' who are cruel or unkind or hurtful but believe they will be saved.

I am a Christian I think, I just have so so so many questions!

Thanks

It is easy to criticize others, and to condemn others if they do not share your views. But as Christians, we are to not only preach, but to practice what we preach. "They will know we are Christians by our love." "For God so loved the world."
WE NEED TO BE A PEOPLE WHO SERVE GOD OUT OF LOVE FOR WHO AND WHAT GOD IS. NOT TO GET A GOLDEN TICKET TO HEAVEN, OR BE HOLIER THAN THOU,
WE NEED TO BE GENUINE, IF YOU BELIEVE IN GOD, THEN LOVE GOD, FOR HIS REASONS AND NOT YOUR GAIN OR GLORY, AND THEN PEOPLE WILL SAY"WHO IS THY GOD THAT WE MIGHT SERVE HIM ALSO." AGREE?

In Revelation 3:21 Jesus said this," To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

So do you know how to overcome the world?

I want him to worship the almighty Christ and accept him into his heart, but my brother say's that any religion is self delusion, it doesn't matter if it's Jesus or Allah or anyone else for that matter.

He says: there is no afterlife, because life is a discription of a condition we humans have here on earth, when you die what happens after wards can not be reffered to as ''life''. He says that God is simply our personal ego.
He makes me doubt my own beliefs.

If you were to tell a terrorist that you were serious about wanting to make peace, and you were in a position of power,(say U.S. president),and that all he had to do to get what he wanted from you was to tell you what to do,what do you think they would want?
What do you think it would take for them to stop doing bad things to other people?

Can I ask of all the Christian people who live their lives as good Christian people, have you actually 'Read' the Bible? And even more importantly, understood it? Or do you assume the religious person at your place of worship will keep you right?

Just asking. :-D

Happy Winter Solstice dudes!
