it's one think to want to live as a group on Sunday and share the same values, but it's another thing to try and carry that mission on in society by making laws or pressing the Christian view on to others. Because this is really not a belief issue but a way of life system that not everyone shares and that is the reason people dislike the Christians, we do not want to live like you or believe as you do. We can believe in Jesus the way we want to, we don't have to believe in your system we don't and we won't. My Jesus would never approve of the Christian agenda.

I do not understand your answers, like you are blind to what I am saying, & the civil rights thing, could we also say Jesus keep the blacks in slavery, like I said it truly has nothing to do with belief in a God its all about a belief in a Christian system developed by mans free will not by Jesus or God

I lived for 35 years being a non Christian.. and I can only say I wished I hadn't waited so long to become a Christian!

People dislike Christians because if you follow Christianity you might feel guilty how you live your life (not you per se.. but people don't want to be told anything or think they have anyone above them)

You have free will to choose how you want to believe.. I can tell you though the Christian life works. Don't be fooled into thinking Christians are all perfect because we aren't. We are just all sinners saved by Grace.

I see more non Christians trying to change laws than the Christian groups. Christians are made fun of on TV and the movies and ridiculed PLUS our Christian rights are being taken away little by little. There are extremist Christians though..don't base your knowledge of "Christians" on those people. They even freak ME out.

Glad you have a peace about your life though

Well, unfortunately for you, skippy, he's not just YOUR Jesus.
People have a "personal relationship" with Jesus.
That's right.
Every Christian has a personal relationship with Jesus.
Jesus must be the perfect diplomat or something, as I don't see how this is plausible.

There are a lot of Christians out there who seem to have the mentality that everyone else is, or should, believe like them, and if they don't, they're lost or hopeless or godless or evil. It's not a very practical outlook on the world.

In this country, 86% of Americans profess a belief in a god, and about half of that are absolutely sure that he exists. They therefore feel the need to make sure his will is imposed on the rest of the country, and they can use the government as a platform to do it. Because, you know, EVERYONE believes in GOD. After all, it's "In God We Trust".

People wonder why us atheists are so bitter about our country's state of affairs.
++++++
deckape, I'm glad you see things that way... but in this country, a lot of people don't.

I think the Christian way of life is the best way but not all Christians live this way like the Bible says to live. We should look to Jesus's example and not other Christians. He is the only man that was totally perfect. Of course people who love living a life of darkness doesn't want anything to do with trying to live a holy life. All I know is there is only one Jesus and one God and the Bible tells us who he is. He is not about religion but about love.

NO.
what you see in the world is still only a shadow of the things in heaven. most christians dont know how the kingdom of God would reign on earth, because they all follow babylon, Yet each time a christian prays the lords prayer they ask the the kingdom of God be on earth as it is in heaven.
Ok, which christian era would be best or not all. if you ask about the pilgrims, you have public stocades and drowning of witches, which were more like innocent people being judged and condemned by Witches themselves.
Oh, how about the templars? !!! lets all go kill everyone and then rape and sodomize the one left.
what about modern Pulpit pounders? I know lets get everyone to pay them our money so we can feel goood and they can drive limos and buy diamond rings and take vacations in hawaii every month. or the worst offender can go out and pay women for sexual favors and call it a blessing of the lord. just like the catholics popes and presbytery went out and bought their sexual releases.
what is your jesus? in the book revelation it says that Jesus will destroy everything that offends. Could you live without cable, or your Music systems? would you live in a world where there is no money but everyone has to work anyway?!!!
and what kind of work is there. Agricultural only? would Jesus give us all computers and dvd's in the mellenium?

I personally don't try to "push" my view on anyone... God gave us free will so you can make your own choices. I just want you to see that I love the Lord and that he cares for me. I have a sense of purpose, and a knowledge that my life is not in vain, and that I have a higher purpose.

I follow Jesus's teachings.... anyone one can believe in Jesus, Even Satan believes in God.

But it is something completely different to accept him as your lord and savior

Yes, look at what those Christians did for:

Civil rights
Women's Sufferage
Abolition

(Everyone has an agenda. Remember Roe V. Wade, "Roe" said that the feminist movement didn't care so much her about as they did about pushing their ideal)

Those darn Christians and their "Thou shalt not kill".
Trying to impose their standards on others.
