After resurection is more appropriate than after death. it tells that Christ is the risen lord and the lord of life!

Nearly every question I see in this section starts something like this...

"To Christians, why do you suck..."
"To Atheists, you're retarded..."

Or some other such nonsense. I think Yahoo! should make a whole new section just for all you idiots to fight in.

This question is in conjuction with the one I asked yesterday.
I could give you hundreds of medical miracles documented by the Catholic church (for the faithful and the doubters) and verified "beyond reason" by physicians.
Or I could give you vision seen by multiple people at the same time, without them knowing each other.
And I wonder if any of you have been told about such things, but, in any case I was wondering how you deal with the term "miracle."

Here is a link hit the fourth point on the faq, if you're interested (I tried pasting, but it's too long and I got complaints):

“We are compelled to concede to the Papists that they have the Word of God, that we received it from them, and that without them, we should have no knowledge of it at all.” (Commentary on St. John, chapter 16)

1-Please explain how the Church that decided which books formed the Bible could have erred so much that he had to separate.

2-Didn´t he think his schism would mean that Christ did not fulfill his promise? (Mt. 28:20 - I am with you always, until the end of the age”).

3-Wasn´t he oblged to believe that Christ can be trusted?

4-And by separating didn´t he show that he did not have believe in Jesus´words?

What is this time continuum we are living in is in fact just a dot in, let's say...eternity? and that one day eternity is proven to be real and all the things that the bible says about hell are real to those who didn't listen while they had the chance during the time they had here in this realm of time? Jesus Christ died for the ungodly...in time. All the time someone needs until it's not there anymore. Do you know when you're going to run out of time?

Lately, I feel guilty that when I was a kid, I thought about hurting this little kid that lived a few doors down from me. I was only about 10 at the time, and never would have acted on it, but how screwed up is is that I still feel guilty about it 17 years later?

A brain hemorrhage can change one's personality completely. SO can many other things. That person would be totally different. If each soul is supposedly "unique" in regards to the person's personality, then wouldn't the soul change if the personality changes?

There are billions of stars in our milky way and galaxies beyond our own that are even larger... The possibility of extraterrestrial life is all but eminent. Although we may not find evidence of life within our own solar system and we may not encounter life outside of our planet earth for ions, if mankind (and its God-based religions) can live long enough, the odds begin to narrow.

The religious books completely fail to mention the possibility of aliens - but what if they were to show up one day? There are some people who seem to think that there is a possibility that aliens have already visited here in the past... the Mayan civilization has referenced possible aliens...

What do you think? Are the God-based religions prepared to explain the existance of Little Green Men?

So I've seen Christians throwing around hell rather flippantly, here and elsewhere - "if you don't follow Jesus, you'll burn in hell!"

Now think about it. Hell is supposedly horrible beyond anything that we can fathom. Being there for a few seconds is unimaginable torture. I'm thinking that even if someone burned down my house, killed my loved ones and ran over my cat, I wouldn't want to punish them by making them suffer so excessively for eternity.

God's supposed to be more compassionate than me, a mere human. So (a) how can he stand to have people suffering in hell? Why doesn't he do everything he can to save them from that? (And I don't want to hear that "look at nature, God created it, that's how he proves he exists!" Sorry, a pretty tree is not enough proof to make some people believe wholeheartedly in something invisible.)

And (b) is it really Godlike for Christians to throw around hell like a cheap threat, not really caring about what an awful place it is?

"I never approved of a Schism nor will I approve of it for all eternity ... that the Roman Church is more honored by God that all others is not to be debated ... though nowadays everything is in a wretched state, it is no grounds for separating from the Church. On the contrary, the worse things are going, the more we should hold close to her, for it is not by separating from the Church that we can make her better ... There is no sin, no amount of evil, which should be permitted to dissolve the bond of charity or break the bond of unity of the body." -

Is it binding to Catholics?

If it is binding would a Catholic be considered 'leaving the Church" if they disagree with it?

An interesting quote I found that is the reason that puts this question out here: "As to the new teachings we have to be clear, that they are not binding" - Cardinal Felici. (Later Cardinal-President of the Ecclesia Dei Commission)

I asked this question within another ? and was not answered; I think this one deserves it own space. Forgive the redundancy.

I believe He's more than able to do that. How about this question.

Would God cause someone to die, in order for YOU to gain faith in Him?

Remember, NOTHING happens by accident. EVERYTHING has a purpose, and a reason.
