Yes it is.
First I would like to explain the stages in life.
There are four stages in life. Raising a family was a part of life in the Vedic era. During the Vedic period life was divided into four parts:
Brahmacharya Ashrama
This stage begins when a child enters school at an early age and continues until he or she has finished all schooling . The goal is to acquire knowedge, build character and learn to shoulder resonsibilities.
Grihastha Ashrama
This stage begins at marriage. In this ashrama an individual pays three debts (service of God, serving sages and saints and to ancestors), and enjoys good and noble things in life in accordace with Artha-Kama-Moksha.
Vanaprastha Ashrama
After the responsibilities of Grahastha ashrama are complete (when one’s children have reached adulthood) one enters this ashrama. This is known as ascetic or hermit stage of life. In this stage one gradually withdraws from active life and begins devoting more time to study of scriptures, contemplation and meditation.
Sannyasa Ashrama
This ashrama is the final stage of life in which an individual mentally renounces all worldly ties, spends all of his or her time in meditation and contemplation and ponders over the mystries of life. In ancient times one would part company with one’s family and become a mendicant.
U are currently in the stage of Grihasta Ashrama. These four stages of life are considered by many to be steps toward the fulfillment of the four aims in life namely, Dharma (Righteousness), Artha (Wealth), Kama (desires, passions, drives), Moksha (freedom from te cycle of birth and death attaining union with God).
Ways to attain Moksha
There are four ways to attain moksha according to the vedic scriptures, selfless work (Karma Yoga), of self-dissolving love (Bhakti Yoga), of absolute discernment (Jnana Yoga), and of 'royal' meditative immersion (Raja Yoga).
Based on every persons understanding and temperament he/she an choose the most suitable path.
Feel free to mail me if you would like to know anything in greater details.

@anavrin I don't think he's talking about suicide and heaven, considering he specifically directed the question towards Hindus and Buddhists. Samsara translates roughly as existence, but is more the cycle of existence, death, rebirth, death, rebirth, with plenty of dukkha or suffering thrown in. I think this question would be best posed to a buddhist teacher. All I can give you are my own (probably misguided) opinions. I do believe in a god or higher power, and believe that, while all of this existence is an illusion, it is one created by god. IMO our existence and samsara was created to explore all the possibilities of life (though I don't know if that's even the right word since life itself is a sort of illusion and not the ultimate truth). I think the idea of an individual soul as well is an illusion, and one that I believe Buddhism and some schools of thought in Hinduism (such as advaita vedanta) try to dispell. What is the difference between my soul and Atman? What is the difference between Atman and Brahman? We live with these illusions of a separation where there actually is none. I think it's these illusions of separation which help lead to all this fleeting happiness and sorrows. I think when you finally realize the lack of separation between you, I, everyone else in this world, and god, you will finally achieve moksha and the end of samsara. I don't think this realization can simply be theoretical though, I think it has to be an experiential type of knowing. As for the best way to realize this and end samsara, well, I have no idea! I'm not too sure any one way will work for everyone anyway. Everyone learns and understands things differently, and I'm sure this is no different.

Yes ,dear there is a solution for every problem. I am also a hindu & believe in god . I had also go through many relegious book & came 2 know that there is a path which is known as " middle path". By middle path I mean that the person who have so many responsiblity towards his family & society can attain moksha. so we have 2 follow some rules like we have 2 be sympatheize with other, we should follow the rule of love, care becoz in my opinion I think that god exist every where even in everybody soul. if we want 2 acheive god then we have 2 respect the humanity & by doing some good deeds. I believe in karma without karma god will not happy becoz he gave us some responsiblity which we have 2 perform in this world. If we go 2 the forest by leaving our duties I dont think that any body can acheive god . so simple is that follow the rule of karma by true heart u can acheive god in his simple form.

Sure man. It is possible to attain moksha with having all responsibilties of your life to do. Be with you parents and kids and wife and pray god. Pray god to show you the moksha everytime you pray god. Sure he will show you the way.
Or you can ask a guru and follow as they say. Or you can go to melmaruvathtoor a place near chennai, there you can ask amma, he can show you the way. It is nothing like you have to be away from your family. Remember it is not an easy way. It is how the way you understand and work on it.I am sure you can do it. Try.

Dear Brother
If you want to achieve something keep your attitude focused on the extreme top. First set your target or real goal of your life. A real goal any life will be to reach where we come from. The answer will be we have to reach god where we come from. in that process Moksha is very simple way and that can be only achieved only through fullfilling your worldly life that is being with your family. To know more you should find a guru to guide you. i can give you a suggestion if you are interested.Shri Ram Chandra Mission - Chennai is one such mission which take you to the real goal from family with your family

OK this is really challenge and I used to live in India and now I live in Canada. What I learned and understand is Moksha (meeting GOD) can be achieved if GOD wants it. if he does you can get it otherwise you have to keep trying. It is 100% possible that you can get it by proper mediation while living with your family. End of the day i m not TRUE master. Only true master can help you with this. You need connection to GOD, that can be done by somebody who is already connected. Only some one I will go is Radha Soami. You can try whoever you can find and who is connected to GOD.

friend there r so many ways to moksha. the simplest is the chanting of god's name. what ever form of god u like n worship, his name u repeat at all times. other forms, penance, n studying scriptures would take time n the best method in this Kali age as said by krishna is chanting the name of lord. of course its possible for ppl responsibilities to achieve moksha, the trick is don't b attached to ur duties, think of them as god's work, no it is god's work. we must feel that way. offer every action to his feet. then even carrying out the responsibility is a puja by itself. rid of urself all negative qualities, have faith, develop love, chant his name, live drink god... thats the way :) simpler than anything!!

I totally agree with Mani K that SAHAJ MARG, the path followed by Shri Ramchandra mission(Chennai-Shahajanapur) is the correct path to permanent liberation from the never-ending cycle of birth & death. MOKSHA is a narrow term which means salvation i.e temporary liberation from the cycle of birth & death. But MUKTI which means permanent liberation is a once-for-all exit from the cycle of birth & death, never to be reborn again in this universe.
Even this 'MUKTI' target is a very low achievement in the spiritual progress a human being makes in SAHAJ MARG.

"MOKSHA " dose not means to renounce the world or family . its just not easy to leave your family and roam about in forest for attaining it.its just a state of mind. so you have to make yourself pure and calm in order to attain it. leaving your family is not a good idea.so you stay where ever you r and try to attain "moksha " over there.PLZ DON'T MAKE OTHERS SUFFER FOR U !!!---AND THIS IS THE FIRST STEP FOR ATTAINING MOKSHA,
you just have to think good,be yourself and be polite to everyone and god will be always there with you !
hope that this helped.
good luck.

Generally it is believed that this takes extreme focus, not the kind you can attain while dealing with the many responsibilities of life. They in effect tie you to the world, but this isn't to say it is impossible. I'd still recommend that you wait until your family is grown and no longer require you in day to day life. Good luck!
