Because they are lost in need of directions. They cannot find the answer to any of their questions and are afraid of facing the truth so they have to have something to or someone to put the blame on. Misery loves company as the saying goes and anyone who is that way wants compainions to share their misery. Ever notice that they do not have any proof that God does not exist while we who have faith have all the proof that is needed by Gods Word and what He has done for us by sending His Son to the cross to die for us and arise again so we may share eternal life when this life on earth is over. Also we as Christians have the ONLY Saviour that has died and now lives again. All the other so called prophets and leaders are buried in their graves to this day, but Christ is seated on the right hand of God on heavens throne ruling forever more never to die again. A person once told me at work that he did not believe in faith and I told him he was wrong and he asked me to prove it, so I asked him if he was married and he said yes. So I then asked him if he trusted his wife and had faith in her not to cheat on him and he said of course. I said well you have faith then, so faith must be real. He then said I see what you mean. Even if a person does not have faith in God, they still have faith in something, and I choose to place my faith in the ONE who can save me from certain death, and I have a Saviour that made that possible by what HE did for me.

For the same reason why some Christians will answer an "atheist only" or "non-Christians only" question. Some people just can't stay out of things they're asked to stay out of I guess. They still feel the need to insist they are right and the others are wrong, regardless of what it is that they believe in.
In a way I understand that if a particular belief is being attacked/bashed, people who hold that belief will stand up and defend it even if they're asked not to. I think they're entitled to, but when no such attack/bashing is taking place I think people should be mature and just stay away when asked to.

Greetings,
Here are a few reasons you might like to play around with:
1. Atheism is not accepted as a religion so many people who follow a religion/ god/ goddess feel that the person is up for grabs and conversion. Many atheists are just repaying that favor.
2. Many are 'bitter' atheists due to others mocking their believes or the number of people killed under the claim that 'their god/ goddess/ religion' is on their side.
3. Recovering Catholics. This breed of atheists is particularly fun and interested in what Christians are up too.
4. Many are not religious, but find religions amusing or fascinating.
5. Last reason: religion is a great topic to debate. Atheists love to discuss it and argue/ debate.
Take heart. Many atheists mind their own business just as many Christians never bother atheists to convert. It’s the few here and there that always give a bad name/ experience. Sort of like the one student who talks in class gets everyone in trouble.
I will admit to being the 4th breed of atheist. [Raised an atheist by a No 2 and No 3 breed of atheism.] My advice is to chuckle every time you run into anyone that answers questions they have no business answering. Life is short, so why get irritated with people who don’t think like you? Just enjoy it.
Regards,
Anesa

Most of the time, atheists have better answers than Christians. If I see a question I can answer properly, I'll answer it. If it says "Christians only", I'll at least inform the person that this is an atheist answer.

I agree with the other poster who said misery loves company.
They are so lost and I think many of them need religious debate
because they are still unsure of what they believe. Just consider your questions to be spreading the word of God and pray that one of your questions might actually bring someone to God and it will all be worthwhile. They keep grasping to the hope that their is no such thing as sin and they can't stand to hear that there is going to be a judgement. Remember that God loves them too and maybe God will speak to them through you. Look at it like this...if they didn't want to hear the word of God they wouldn't give your question a glance but the fact that they do tells you that they are in need of spiritual guidance. Hope this helps.

Well since every question I have ever seen that says "Atheists only" usually is chick full of Christians then I wonder why Christians are so special that they can play both sides of the game and no one else can.
Sin of pride perhaps?
If they can do it so can Atheists
jworks796:: Maybe but since Christians are not tolerant of anyone or anything that is not a slave to their way of thinking then big whoop.
As for finding new forum I don't recognize your authority over all creation to determine that

Daniel,
Something I've noticed is that people are going to offer you their opinion whether you want it or not. I've asked a few questions on membership in different groups, and invariably several people feel the need to tell me that I'm hellbound and to turn to Jesus, Allah, etc.
Does that come anywhere near to telling me what I'm looking for? Hell, no.
*shrug*
All the best,
Laz

Well, last time I checked, yahoo answers was not an elite club, all questions are open for everyone to answer.
Besides, I think hearing only the opinions of those that will mostly agree with you seems a bit close minded, doesn't it? (the same applies to "atheists only" questions, etc.)

As a Christian I'm always astonished and embarrassed at any expressions of exclusion, including this one. Just wanted to let you know.

Curiousity. Yahoo Answers is certainly not the place to ask specific questions geared to only certain people though.
