Dragontea - I am also coming from the perspective of the UK where a lot of young Pakistanis don't seem to want to integrate and seem to only care about their fellow muslims.

Bassel - a vicar I know did give a down and out person food when he knocked on his door, but he made them do some work for it. He would have done the same if the person had been a muslim.

Not true, at all. Its neither suggested nor implied by their religion, the Quran or the teachings of their prophet. I know a lot of Muslims individuals and organisations which give charity to a lot of needy non-muslims, throught the world. The ony difference, perhaps, is that they make very little or no noises at all!

One of the reasons, perhaps, is the belief that the best charity giver in the eyes of God is the one who'se left hand knows nothing about what his/her right hand gives in charity!

Absolutely not, Muslims give to those in need.

There is a story of a prostitute who saw a thirsty dog and gave it water from her shoe, from a well, and because of this, she was granted Paradise.

Islam teaches compassion and care for all creation.

In the crusades, Salahudeen Ayub sent a doctor, medicine and ice cream, to King Richard when he was ill, even though he was his enemy.

Islamic Relief, the biggest Muslim charity in the UK, does not differentiate between religions when distributing aid, for example after the tsunami. It just happens that unfortunately, many of the world's disaster and war areas happen to be Muslim areas.

FALSE, who ever told u that is predujece.Muslims give Charity to whoever needs it. The only people who will say they dont are obviously non-Muslims. And think if a Muslim came near a church and asked food or money etc. would they give him it?
Muslims treat everybody as brothers whatever if there Jewish, Christian or not. I have a friend who only respects people who respects him it doesn't matter what religion they are to him, Obviously he is Muslim.

Youll find your answer at the day of Judgment

After Hurricane Katrina various Muslim countries offered help:

"Qatar: Offers $100 million to assist in the humanitarian crisis triggered by Hurricane Katrina.

Kuwait: Government has asked parliament to approve an emergency aid package of $500 million in humanitarian aid and petroleum. "

HELLO,

100% Noooooooooooooooooooooo!

Actually, in ISLAM sacred book , Muslims help all people & never even harm anyone>>>>>>>>>>help others whoever they are with the best they can..........even with your whole money/food or anything make others not in pain & give them the chance to have a better living:)

Sometimes, if we are incapable of that, at least by WORDS we make others smile & relieve thier pain or problems.

I just would like to add few advice which are very necessary & worth READING:

Tips to some ppl:
*Never Judge something that you don't know!
*NEVER Answer a question without having any correct Evidence!
*NEVER Lie to just gain extra points!
*NEVER Be agressive towards other ppl religons & insult them!
* NEVER Be mindful & remmeber God is watching YOU!
*Don't answer what you don't know!
*In such cases, don't even guess,,,,,,,,,,Just answer I know or don't!

*Don't judge a religion that is not yours............invent principles which are not there.............Do you think ppl will believe you while you are not a one who is following it.So, how do you know about it's principles!? only inventing!?Guessing?! ;)

* Be your self & act as a human!
* Never forget to judge your answer before God or Others do.
* Listen to your soul, heart, &self SOUND OF JUDGEMENT!

Thank alot for your reading!

Thats not true.
To be a true muslim, charity is a must (if you can afford it), as is prayer.

There are a few types of charity too. Such as 'zakaah' 'sadaqaah' and so on. And these cover muslims & non-muslims.

The prophet Mohammed even taught us to have respect & help our neighbour, whether he be muslim or not.
He said that if your neighbour is going hungry, when you have food on your plate, then you are NOT a true muslim. This is how compassionate one has to be towards others, muslims or otherwise.

These are the sort of things that make non-muslims grow contempt towards us. I am glad you asked this question so this sort of misconceptions are cleared.

'Trust me I am a muslim' thats a funny answer.

There is a lot of truth in it. One of my close friends is Muslim and he says if was rich he'd help people - but his best idea of doing this is to build Mosques!

It might say to help people in the holybooks but it also says that homosexuals and people who insult their parents need to be executed, not to mention those who fail to convert.

I'm not entirely convinced Christians are much better. They might do more but isnt there the secondary goal of converting people? I hope if I was starving and someone said we'll feed you if you listen to our rant and then claim to believe A, B and C that I'd have enough will to say 'go f**k yourself.'
