If you were to tell a terrorist that you were serious about wanting to make peace, and you were in a position of power,(say U.S. president),and that all he had to do to get what he wanted from you was to tell you what to do,what do you think they would want?
What do you think it would take for them to stop doing bad things to other people?

I would think the best thing to do would be hunt them down and exterminate them. It doesn't have to be fancy and no one needs say anything cool before they are disposed of, just get it done. Once they're all dead the problem is resolved. Should a new spawn of terrorists develop then the death squads would be in place with tried and true tactics and an over strategy to dispose of the successive threats. I believe this is the best method to resolve the issue, brutal but effective. I'm reasonably confident that this is whats being done right now by democratic countries all over the world in terrorist hot spots and I'm also confident that it's working. Simple plans work best and nothing makes terrorists more peaceful than killing them.

Depends on the type. Islamic terrorist wants world dominion. Terrorist state wants world dominion. IRA wanted freedom. PKK wants a brand new Kurdish state. Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds in Iraq want dominion over Iraq.

But when you give the terrorists what they want, they won't stop at that. Give them the whole world, they'll want your soul. I think it is better to keep fighting terror.

Some of them might. Some of them have sworn death to the United States, men, women, and children, no matter what. I think negotiating with terrorists is kind of like trying to negotiate with a hungry tiger - you can't convince them because they are 100% brainwashed into believing THEIR way is the ONLY way. They have to be captured or killed. Sad, but true.

I don't think you truely understand the workings of a terrorist. He lives for his cause and I willing to die for it, you can't bargin or rationalise with that. If he wants you dead, or whatever he has his mind on dead, he'll destroy it or die trying. No, the question you should really be thinking, is how do we stop terrorism. Stop it so that future generations don't go killing themselves meaninglessly, that's what you should be asking.

The only thing a bully understands is force. They would have to change their education systems and given up nuclear weapons for us to have peace. Basically a democracy.

You can't make peace with terrorists. They don't *want* peace. All they want is an excuse.

To become the US prez, one has to become a politician. And once you're there, you owe many favours. And you may not be in a position to offer peace if war is more profitable to interested parties.

BUT, I would offer food and heath care to the poor, both in my country and abroad.
