God sees people as they truly are not as humans see them, beauty will pass, ugly will pass, what we are on the inside will last forever.

I have a beautiful wife and I am not handsome at all, she is a wonderful Christian woman and very godly in her views, I think she sees a little of what God sees in me.

I tend to gravitate towards those who are pretty on the inside, many are not as pretty on the outside. I hope you are both pretty on the outside and on the inside but you need to understand which one is really important.

Our life on earth is very short, James 4:14 say it is even a vapor that appearith for a short time then vanishith away. What we have or look like or even what others think of us is not that important. What we do for Christ and what we do with the talents he gives us is very important.

God Bless.

I think it's because what really matters is what is in the soul. A pretty person can be ugly by not being nice and not loving God, an ugly person can be beautiful by having a wonderful soul. It can be a test, too. Look at Jessica Simpson-she is beautiful, she used her beauty to get her where she is today, and now it seems that she has forgotten her Christian past. She took the beauty and fame path, not the beauty and God-loving path.

If you have that mindset I bet you have a lot of questions about life. The answer to your question is balance. This is not a perfect world, good and bad exist, pretty and ugly. If God sheltered us what would be the fun. I enjoy a variety of women of shapes and colors. Would you want to eat the same food every day? Variety is the spice of life. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Thank you Jesus for variety.

God made each of us as He saw fit to. Whether you are ugly, pretty, plain or handsome, is just a visual. Look deeper into yourself and others and you will find the "beauty" God has put there. You may have to look deeper into some people than others, but it is there. Surface looks have a tendency to fade over time but the inner person is more important anyway. God gives each of us what He thinks we can handle, whether it's blindness, heart problems, or something more serious, He believes in us and our abilities to find our inner strength to cope. That is our real "beauty".

I've come to find those people who society has deemed ugly have a very sweet disposition. They are less likely to judge, and have the ability to look people's outward appearances. I think beauty is different for everyone. It's amazing to me that just like he made people that aren't attractive to everyone he also made someone for everyone...

I think God must have been looking at our hearts and inward appearances when he created us in his image, in hopes that we would love one another in that same way.

We, as Christians, believe that we are made in God's image. How can we be uglier or prettier if we are patterned after God? It is humans who dictate and decide what pretty is....for example, look at art from 200+ years ago. Those people weren't what I'd call pretty by today's standards. But, back then they were. We are all precious in His sight...He who created us.

It gets down to DNA. Ugly people should have chosen better looking parents. :-)

Observation: I've seen some beautiful women that I would never wish anyone on, because they have an attitude and a temperament that I simply would not tolerate! There was a song: "Never make a pretty woman your wife, 'cause you'll be sorry for the rest of your life..." In that song there's a spoken quote that goes something like this: "Hey, I saw your wife the other day, and she shore is ugly!" Reply: "Yeah, but she shore can cook!" :-) That man's happy!

Never judge a book by its cover!

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Someone you might not look good on the outside and has a wonderful personality and that makes them physically look better to you where others are fine and so into theirselves it makes you want to puke. Those people tend to start looking ugly on the outside as well.

How people look is a matter of family genetics and luck.

Why people think that the Divine is going to regulate something as trivial as looks when there is a perfectly good natural process to do that I don't know.

He didn't. We did. God said that when He made man and woman, it was good. Everything He does or creates is beautiful because it is in His own image and that is beautiful because God is nothing but beautiful. So is His creation, that means us. Satan causes us to judge and criticize other cultures and nationalities to pit us against one another to hurt God. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everything is beautiful in it's own way.
