Samson killed a thousand men with a fresh jawbone of a donkey.

Judges
15:15 And he found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a THOUSAND men therewith.

then he starts "singing" LOL!!!

15:16 And Samson said, With the jawbone of a donkey, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of a donkey have I slain a thousand men.

shouldn't the Israelis start killing the palestinians with fresh Jawbones of donkeys instead of bombs and bullets?

If we are such an advances race (HUMAN), we are separated from animals in our ability to create rational PROactive thought. Able to think about single and multiple thoughts down to the tiniest detail, before we act on it. And progress still "requires" the use of extreme measures (i.e. war, murder -any type, etc) to solve problems?

the book of Judges

15:15 And he found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith.

**then he starts "singing" after killing the thousand men with a "jaw bone of a donkey"**

15:16 And Samson said, With the jawbone of a donkey, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an *** have I slain a thousand men.

**so God rewards him for killing the thousand men**

15:18 And he was sore athirst, and called on the LORD, and said, Thou hast given this great deliverance into the hand of thy servant: and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?
15:19 But God clave an hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water thereout; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore he called the name thereof Enhakkore, which is in Lehi unto this day.
15:20 And he judged Israel in the days of the Philistines twenty years.

What do you practice and what branch are you? Solitary with a flare for Greek gods? Eclectic with a love for Norse? I"m curious as to the many branches represented on Y!A.

As a westener used to the freedom of wearing what I want, being comfortable and looking presentable I can't understand why anyone should tell me I'm a sex object and so cover up.

I am a person. And I am quite able to live modestly with integrity without looking like a sack of potatoes. What is wrong with the shape of my body? Is it not as natural as a tree?

True/False?

Why is this?

OK. I heard in the news that in the UK companies will not have the x'mas celebrations and decorations as usual, and many streets will not be decorated for christmast so they will not offend Islam. Is it true? And if it is what do you feel about it

Does anyone else have a problem with this? I can't believe that someone can die for this country and then not be allowed to have their religions emblem on their grave. As a Wiccan, who's husband is currently serving in the military, I find this appalling. I wonder what would happen if, say, Christians weren't allowed to have crosses on theirs. http://www.circlesanctuary.org/liberty/veteranpentacle/QuestStorySummary.htm http://www.circlesanctuary.org/liberty/veteranpentacle/

just do as what God told us in the Quran.

[91] ..... Say: "Allâh (sent it down)." Then leave them to play in their vain discussions.
6:91

[199] Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the foolish
7:199

[3] Leave them to eat and enjoy, and let them be preoccupied with (false) hope. They will come to know!
15:3

[96] Repel evil with that which is better. We are Best-Acquainted with the things they utter.
23:96

[54] So leave them in their error for a time.
23:54

[30] So turn aside from them and await: verily, they (too) are awaiting.
32:30

[83] So leave them (alone) to speak nonsense and play until they meet the Day of theirs which they have been promised.
43:83

Okay this should be a fairly open question. In other words, if you are a Christian, what non-Christian argument really silenced you, even if you ultimately rejected it? For myself (as a Christian), it is reading Thomas Paine's "Age of Reason" which I did for a third time tonight. Somewhere on my backburner of books in progress one of them is a refutation of Age of Reason since some of his claims are incredibly foolish, other parts don't need refuted because he is right, but still he offered the reader to try to refute it if they can, and I personally like testing my faith, and the better the challenge the more effective a result it impedes upon my faith.

Anyway, nevermind all that. I'm not looking for what actually convinced (i.e. converted) you, I'm interested in what you've heard that was truthfully a good argument, though you maintained your beliefs.
