I find it difficult answering this question. What is the point of any religion....If you would like to know anything more specific please ask, and I will gladly try to answer your question, but as far as a purpose of Judaism, I'm a bit stuck :-/ Sorry!

the purpose of Judaism is to be a "light unto the nations". God gave the Jews a whole bunch more responsibility in the world than the other nations. Through doing its duty, Israel brings the light of God down for the benefit of the whole world.

That's like asking the purpose of Christianity or Islam or any religion. The purpose is a belief that moves one forward and gives one direction on a day to day basis.

The prupose? Do you mean like how it helps other people? You've asked quite a difficult question! But I'll try! There really isn't any prupose of any religion...they've all caused hate! But religions are another way of grouping different believers! You know, like lions belong to the group (kingdom???) Mammalia, it's just a way to group it!
But the Jews have a relationship with God following His laws.

I don't know if this will help, but the Jews are God's chosen people.
Their prophets predicted a Saviour (King) would come to rescue them. Some believed in Jesus as God. These became Christians.
So the Jews did bring forth the Saviour. Those that don't believe this are still looking for one.
