As a westener used to the freedom of wearing what I want, being comfortable and looking presentable I can't understand why anyone should tell me I'm a sex object and so cover up.

I am a person. And I am quite able to live modestly with integrity without looking like a sack of potatoes. What is wrong with the shape of my body? Is it not as natural as a tree?

The muslim men I believe can't control themselves, so like in the dark ages which is where they seem to still live, the woman has to take responsibility for every wrong or inpure thought that they may have, I believe that if only these women had the courage to say as a whole, stuff you and your control without being tortured for owning a voice, the muslim religion would be looked upon in a far better light.

The fact is that Islam has resisted change, while all other religions have "gone with the times" Our western secular view (rightly) ignores the religious significance (this annoys the mullahs) and sees the facts of an all-male, archaic priesthood telling "their" women what to wear and how to present themselves to the world.

But you must remember - Islam hasn't even had the equivalent of our Reformation, so it's unlikely to embrace women's Liberation and sexual equality any time soon. We must not allow the rules of an archaic religion to promote the oppression of women in Western countries, just for the sake of political correctness.

There is nothing wrong with a female body, but it attracts unwanted attention. Why should every man see your body? If you choose not to cover yourself, then no ones stopping you, but some people are happy to do it, and they have respect for themselves for doing so. There is nothing wrong with covering yourself. It does not mean you are being treated like a "sex object", and i don't understand how you are treated like a sex object if you cover up. Why do we HAVE to show our bodies to men we don't even know? Why can't it just be our husbands (and families) who sees our bodies? After all why does anyone else NEED to see it?

If women want to cover their bodies, then who are you to take that freedom (of being able to cover themselves) away from them. Muslim women are not oppressed because most of them CHOOSE to cover themselves, and there is nothing wrong with that. Men shouldn't force them to do it, but unfortunately, they do, but it should be the women who decides to do this herself.

Even Christ said in the Book of Mathew that it is better for a man to gouge out his eye then to look at a woman in a lustful way.
You do what you want, but as a Muslim my sexiness is not for the eyes of any man who looks at me, it is for my husband. At home or around our family we can wear whatever we want to. Just when we go outside we cover our body. Men dress modestly in Islam as well, it's not a sexist thing. Muslims believe that God loves modest people, not people who flaunt their beauty and want people to look at them with desire or lust.
Women are talked to as sisters, and are respected as a person, not as a sex object.

Muslims want their women dressed a certain way as to keep them pure in all highlights and views. Other men lust over women that are not theirs and I guess to prevent this they cover up the women. If you noticed at all... The unmarried women walk around with their faces uncovered. I guess that means that they are single.

The Muslims nowerdays as we can see are not obeying the Quran or Hadith fully. This is also why they are not succeeding in life. Women have rights according to the Hadith and Quran but some Muslim men oppress their wives which is harram (agaisnt Islam)

I am from the US and living in an Islamic country. Women here dress modestly and cover BY THEIR OWN CHOICE! You will see young women from the same family, some in modern clothes, others completely covered. Islam encourages this of course, but also gives women the right to choose. Covering in hijab is considered showing submission to Allah. If you ask the women here who cover, they will tell you they do not feel pressure to do so, and they actually enjoy it.

Because the Muslims are a primitive religion, sexual gratification, its a man's world heaven. But if you dont believe in us you are an INFIDEL, and we will have to cutt off your head, or your hands and feet. We claim to be peacefull, we believe in surrender, we are peaceful, Yeah right, then why all the beheading rules in the quoran, and the dismemberment, and your---thats right your radical terrorists--who are sponsored by Muslims, "Do not take the Christian or the Jew for an Ally" right in your Quoran. The Bible does not say anything about Muslims, other than you are of the rejected line of Ismael. MUSLIM WOMEN SHOULD BE THE FIRST TO AWAKE FROM THE NIGHTMARE OF ISLAM.

It is a direct command from Allah(swt) for a Muslim man to lower his gaze from looking at forbidden things. To protect their private parts from illegal sexual acts.

Then the same is said to the Muslim woman as well as to cover the bodies, faces, necks and bosoms etc. Muslim women are forbidden to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands fathers, their sons, their husbands sons, their brothers, their brothers sons, or their sisters sons, or their (Muslim) women, or small children who have no sense of shame of sex.

By not covering up I am sorry you are nothing but a sex object!!!
