OK. I heard in the news that in the UK companies will not have the x'mas celebrations and decorations as usual, and many streets will not be decorated for christmast so they will not offend Islam. Is it true? And if it is what do you feel about it

There are one or two companies and a few small towns that are, in effect, 'de-Christmassing Christmas'. And although some councils are using the excuse of not wanting to offend non Christians, the _real_ truth is that by not putting up Christmas street decorations, lights etc., they are saving money. I suspect similar reasons motivate certain companies to do the same thing. However, I've driven through quite a number of towns over the past few days and saw plenty of Christmas decorations bedecking high streets. So I suspect the more sensational media outlets are responsible for the impression that the UK is about to become a 'Christmas-free Zone'.
Incidentally, I have Muslim and Chinese friends and every year they send Xmas cards and gifts - and I do the same for them. So the Muslims, Taoists/non-Christians I know are clearly not offended by Christmas and have entered into the spirit of the season as enthusiastically as the rest of us.
Personally, I think a few miserable UK councillors and employers have been reading too much Charles Dickens and have adopted a 'Pre converted Ebenezer Scrooge' attitude. I hope Santa crosses them off his gift list!

As far as I know the UK is not experiencing this problem on the same scale as the U.S, there are a great number of Muslim owned shops that are actually selling Christmas items and quite a few are also stocking Christmas trees.
I have been there very recently and I have spoken to some Muslims who find all this fuss as confusing as Christians do.
It seems to be some Jewish business people who are objecting to this years Christian symbols, pretty strange huh!

That's news to me. I don't think it could be true, London in the winter without X-Mas decorations would be awful.

There's some truth to it, in that some local councils and stores are opting to not decorate. As to how I feel about it...so what?

I am Offended by your use of "X" rather than CHRISTmas. Even if you only mean it as an abbreviation, it is still Offensive.
