I have had Jewish friends who swear that it is a race, others who swear that it is only a religion. Many say it is both. This has confused me. It has been said that Arabs and Jews are cousins so in that regard I believe that it is a race initially but also a faith, a belief of the Torah. Can someone please give me an intellegent, factual answer not a guesstimation? Thank you.

The senior pastor of a second Colorado megachurch has resigned following a phone call to the church outing him.

The Rev. Paul Barnes of Grace Chapel in South Denver announced in a video taped message to his congregation Sunday that he was stepping down.

"1 have struggled with homosexuality since I was a 5-year-old boy," Barnes said in the video according to the Denver Post.

".. I can't tell you the number of nights I have cried myself to sleep, begging God to take this away."

In the video Barnes is seen sitting with his wife.

The church's associate pastor, Dave Palmer, told the Post that the church got an anonymous call last week from a person who said he had overheard a conversation in which someone mentioned "blowing the whistle" on evangelical preachers engaged in homosexuality, including Barnes.

In Egypt, after they turn to Christ, the light of God fills their homes for up to 45 minutes. God assures them of His light. A church in Cairo has grown by 1000s because of this.

I've heard it said that the stone age existed after the flood as a lot of resources and information was lost and the bronze age was before the flood.

To me this doesn't make sense.

Does this imply that the information age was in Eden and Adam and Eve had the internet?

I have a friend who belongs to a church. He is Christian and goes to church every week to do the things you all do etc (i dont go any more). BUT.......He is living his life in a lie and is very down and depressed most of the time. He is Gay BUT because his church and his family are totally against this he will never live the life he so wants too. His family have prayed for him etc, taking him to couselling etc and ofcourse none of this is going to help.

He believes SO MUCH that if he was to have a sexual relationship with another man, that he would lose his place in Gods Kingdom. His family have told him he would be no son of theres if he ever truely lives the life of a gay man, so he lives this lie and its tearing him apart.

What are your views on this?????

Have they been evangelized by classmates or been given class assignments that were difficult for you ethically? If so, how did they handle it?

For instance in one part it says "thou shalt not kill" and in another it says "If a man strikes you on your left cheek turn to him your right cheek" but then God commands the jews to commint genocide and the many pastors in the US have used it to say that killing iraqi insurgents is O.K.. I have read the bible probably more than most people have. I read the New testament countless times, and I support the troops. So Address the question. Why does the bible have so many contrdictions? evil people use these to control others.

I know this is not exactically the right area for this question, but I want to hear from the people here because this is where I ask most of my other questions.
Anyway, someone said it is unethical to ask a question you already know the answer. I sometimes do this, but it is because I like to hear what others have to say about something. Is that OK or do you think that is wrong?
And don't tell me to be so concerned with what others think. I appreciate what you are trying to do, but the reason why I am asking this is because I want to know what others think.
Thanks.

I just got a few answers on my last q to the effect that these two subjects were different because...

Stem cell research takes the life of an early stage embryo (albeit in order to save lives of people who have been alive for quite some time), and IV fertilization creates a life, making it OK.

My question is... do you know what IV fertilization entails? Do you realize that it involves making several embryos, most of which are discarded and destroyed?

So, in effect, IV fertilization involves killing several embryos to create one baby.

Again, I fail to see the reasoning as to why stem cell research is evil and IV fertilization is OK.

Please explain.

Ok, you feel abortion is wrong, I don't agree with that, but I can understand the sentiments.

Problem is, abortions happen anyway, whether somebody else likes it or not.

This question is about embryonic stem-cell research.

Assuming abortions take place anyway, what is your position on the subject:

A) stem-cell research can save lives; If the abortion has taken place anyway, please let them do research on the embryo in order to save other lives.

B) I simply refuse to wanna know that abortions take place anyway, so I believe that embryonic stem-cell research kills babies.

because they killed Jesus we should hate them. That makes no sense to me. Jesus died to save all of us, so shouldn't we be thanking the Jews?? Plus, Jesus taught to love our enemies, so even if we think it's bad they killed him, shouldn't we still love them? Any thoughts on this strange prejudice??
