Original sin. I say it's Adam & Eve getting it on, my bf says it's biting into the forbidden fruit.

So, what is the story?

Are you scared of people who have sex with dead bodies? If so, then you are necrophobic and must be treated in tolerance camps.

In your own opinion, which Holy Day is more important, the Day of Our Lords' Birth, the Day He died, or the Day He rose from the dead? For the non-believers, please don't waste yours or my time by responding. Thank-you!

So, you could really take Pascal's wager a step further: Just talk one of your gullible relatives into becoming "born again", and you've got a free ticket to heaven.

Kierkegaard a very intelligent philosopher and a critic of modern Christianity had this to say about Christiniaty...

When Christianity entered the world it presupposed want, distress, the suffering of the anguished conscience, the hunger that cries out only for food – and then Christianity was the food. Nowadays we think that we have to offer appetizers before we can get people to enter into faith. We have changed Christianity from a radical cure into a minor precaution, like something used to prevent colds, toothaches, and the like. And strangely enough, although every inventor of drops, pills, and so on, "which do neither good nor harm," trumpets his medicine as a miracle balm, Christianity is proclaimed in very muted tones.

When we receive a package we unwrap it to get at the contents. Christianity is a gift from God, but instead of receiving the gift, we have undertaken to wrap it up, and each generation has furnished a new wrapping around the others.

Jesus: believed in the fatherhood of God and brotherhood of humanity
Christians: Spurn those who think differently.
J: The Golden Rule
C: Apostolic forces its nature on others
J: Non-traditionalist, in fact traditionally believed to be killed by the Orthodox Jews
C: Steeped in tradition and sacriment
J: Repayment of evil with good
C: Sept 11 th spurred two wars by a "christian" nation
J: Opponent of hypocracy.
C: The pious re-elected Bush due to his moral character (despite him killing tens of thousands and being publically caught in lies.
J: Love the sinner hate the sin.
C: Your opinion on homo-sexuals says enough.

I am sure that many of you may think slightly differently, however, I would say that this is true for at least 80% of you. I pick on christians today because it is you who claim that your founder was the "Son of God". Others adhere much more closey to their doctrine and are quick to point out that the Messiah has yet to come.

What is your response to this?

I'm from the US, and I've been reading a little about Hinduism lately. If I understand correctly, according to Hinduism, a person goes through a potentially endless cycle of rebirth until he attains enough good karma to reach moksha, or unity with Brahman. However, once you reach moksha, are you conscious of it? If not, then why would anyone want to reach moksha? After all, no one wants to die, and in that case, reincarnation doesn't sound like such a bad deal to me. Can anyone explain this to me?

Then why are people who are Christians saying that their faith is the only faith? Why aren't you Jewish like Jesus? You want to be like Jesus right? But you don't want to be the same religion as he was? I don't get it.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair raised the subject of reported harassment of Kazakh Hindus, including demolition of Hindu homes, with the Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev during a meeting here. According to Hindu groups based in Britain, 60 riot police and bull dozers assembled inside a Hindu temple in Kazakhstan and demolished five Hindu houses on Tuesday. The Kazakh government was also allegedly planning to bulldoze a Hindu temple on Wednesday in the Karasai district. Hindus in the Karasai district have had land, barns and cows confiscated, have been threatened with demolition of their houses, and denied the right to own land. Hindus who applied for ownership of their houses were asked to declare that they were not Hindus, while non-Hindus who made similar applications were immediately granted ownership rights. The Kazakh Supreme Court reviewed two cases regarding Hindu cottages and ruled against the Hindus without inviting the plaintiffs to the hearings.

Why are the Hindus treated like this in Kazakhastan?
Why should Mr Blair not support this cause, after all he wishes peaceful religious practices in the UK too?

I dont know too much about the origins of humans worshiping a deity/god whatever. I am wondering if all the mainstream religions (Christianity, Buddism, Hinduism, Muslim etc..) originally came from one religion. It always takes a seed to create a branch and it always takes a branch to make more branches. I will conduct my research soon when I have the time, but I would like a quick answer if possible. I am not anti-Christian but I am attempting to argue with this fundamentalist rightwinged Christian I work with. I in fact love what the man Jesus Christ stands for, but I am trying to point out that Christianity is not the answer of answers.

If you are against stem cell research, are you also against in vitro fertilization?

Why or why not?

It seems to me that there is not nearly as much controversy over IV fertilization, but stem cell research is a hot issue. I fail to see the reasoning behind this.

Would it offend you if he or she decided to use public funds to decorate the White House for Chanukah, but not Christmas?

Would it matter that Christmas is a federal holiday with secular aspects and Chanukah is not?

(Just curious. I personally would prefer that public funds not be used to celebrate any religious holiday, even if it is a federal holiday. Private, voluntary donations could be solicited to pay for such things.)

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean living"
I'm whispering "I was lost,
Now I'm found and forgiven."

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And need His strength to carry on.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace, somehow!
