Christmas is not a sin. Christmas is a holiday and a holiday, in and of itself, cannot be a sin. People's actions can be a sin. I am a Christian and I celebrate Jesus birth, not a pagan holiday, on Dec 25th. Jesus did take on flesh and became a baby around this time of year. It is not important to know the exact date that he was born. We celebrate his life every day of the year. The point is that He was born, lived a perfect life, was crucified and was raised from the grave! This is no lie.

yes the Winter Solstice but really almost all our holidays are a combination of pagan festivals and christian celebrations. The word Easter is a pagan word and celebrated the goddess of fertility. i personally don't take a stand either way which is the same for Halloween where a lot of christians say it is a pagan or even a satanic holiday ....i think things are what you make them so i don't make a big deal of it either way

Even though Dec. 25th is not the actual date of Jesus' birth, I see no reason that His birth can not be celebrated on that day. One isn't celebrating Mithra's birth.
As for the tree and other symbols, I believe the celebration is what you make of it. I personally don't put up a tree anymore. I also don't go overboard on buying a lot of gifts. Christmas has become too commercialized. I celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus....whatever the day He was born on.

We are celebrating the birth of the Savior everyday--I don't think you will go to hell because of a man made date. "Little Christmas" as we call it is in January and we take all decorations and everything down except for our manger scene. We sing "Happy Birthday" on Christmas day before we do anything else and we read the Christmas story from the Bible. If we keep Christ first in all things and don't get caught up in the world and how they do things, I don't think we are sinning.

First, Jesus wasn't and isn't a homosexual, that is a sin and a question to be addressed separately. Is celebration of Xmas a sin? Yes. Do those who strive to be true Christians celebrate Xmas? No, they don't, they avoid Xmas, Easter, and other such pagan celebrations. It is not authorized by command or example in the New Testament. Catholics and religions derived from Catholicism do celebrate Xmas. Catholics are not equal to Christians. The Catholic organization is not the church, but a perversion of it.

these so called holidays are derivedfrom pagan holidays.
christmas or christ-mass is a catholic holiday, the pagan goddess astarte and her man nimrod had a son during what we know as the christmas season, the catholicchurch calls mary the queen ofheaven, the bible says astarte was called by her followers the queen of heaven, jesus was not born anywhere near the month of december, astarte's son was.. the catholic church celebrates the pagan holiday easter, astarte was known as a goddess of fertility, thus the references to the bunny, and egg both refering to reproductive qualities wich point to astarte so yes christmas and easter are totally pagan holidays, the catholic church has tried to pass them off as christian, but theyare not, and at least a few true christians have taken the time to research their origins, i could go on but don't feel likea long discussion...

that's some interesting rationality, but I think Christmas is more of a sin because of its massive cultural production rather than because pagans celebrated it.

I think as long as they acknowledge the origins of the holiday then they're fine. Like if they say "ok, I realize how christmas came into being. but i'd like to take this season to celebrate my faith and this is what christmas means to me personally."
But anyone who refuses to acknowledge truth, then they're going to redefine sin anyway.
