Jesus was indeed Jewish. The Christian faith is modeled specifically on Jewish faith. The only difference (hence, where the different name comes in), is that Christians are followers of Jesus who knew/know him to be the Messiah. The majority of the Jewish are still awaiting for the Messiah to come the first time. Christians are awaiting his 2nd coming. The only reason that a majority of the Jewish do not realize the identity of the Messiah, Jesus, is that it is Biblical that they would be blind to his identity until the time of his 2nd coming. Don't ask why, it is simply part of the bigger plan by God that we as humans can not understand. Rest assured there is a purpose for it and God is in control.

Simply because we can't, we are not in the bloodline of God's chosen people...and that is what they still are! The majority of the Jews do not accept Jesus as the Christ, their Messiah. They are still waiting for His coming. We are included only by God's love, mercy and grace. He made a new covenant with mankind through Jesus Christ. What is this covenant? That is what the New Testament is all about. Read the gospel of John for more information, and follow that up with Romans. Our Jewish brothers and sisters would learn much from a reading of Hebrews, or finding out more about the "Jews for Jesus" organization. Hope this helps.

Most Christians are (and have been for 2000 years, since the early Church was overwhelmed by Gentile converts) in deep denial about Jesus' Jewishness. Go to Amazon, search for Geza Vermes, and read his books on the subject (Jesus the Jew, The Religion of Jesus the Jew, etc.).

The main difference between the beloved Jewish and Christians is: Christ. Christians use basically the same teachings, BUT they know that Jesus is the Messiah that was spoken of and prophesied about; while Jews are still waiting.

I dont get this ether, although Jesus came for all, he was a Jew. chrstians were frist called chrisians in the Bible because they acted with the Love of Christ. why then do we "Christians" condem others when Christ did not? be careful when generlizing Christians, or many demonations are all roled into one when you do this, an examlpe, baptist, catholic, and episcopals are all christians with diffrent beleifs. many Jews call themselves Christians too (I know some personaly who have told me this). so when you are saying that Christianity is the onl faith, you have to look deeper to get the picture. muslems are not considered "Christian" but Most do NOT think and act the way th US GOV. wants us to think they do. My muslem freinds are some of the sweetest people I know, and they exept that our beleifs are diffrent. we do not argu abou who is right or wrong, but we often talk about our diffrences and try to understand one another. Just remember that all religions are man made, and all have their own flaws. there is no one ure religion set fourth to us, only to bleve in Jesus Christ and to live showing love to every one.

If you seriously want an answer the best thing to do would be to study the book of Hebrews. It explains how the role of Jesus's life and death as it relates to the laws God gave man through the Jews. The reader's digest is Jesus was the ultimate fulfillment of the law and his sacrifice established a new covenant.

Everyone cannot be born a Jew, yet the gospel is for all: Jew, Gentile, etc. Cornelius, the first Gentile convert, was baptized as a Christian, along with his household, after Peter was told by the Lord that "what I have called clean, you don't call common", meaning the gospel was also being made available to the Gentiles.

What are you talking about? Jews are the same religion as Jesus once was. He just wanted to reform some things that the head rabbis didn't like, and it was blown out of proportion, and ended tragically for him, and later for the Jews.
Jesus kept Sabbath. Jesus ate kosher. Jesus never ate pork! Jesus celebrated Hanukkah, Passover, and everything else. He prayed in Hebrew. And, get this, his apostols called him Rabbi! :)))

Yes Jesus was Jewish, he came primarily to save his own people but was rejected as the Messiah. However he came to save the gentiles as well. I follow Christ as my savior, so I am a christian.
