I'm from the US, and my guess is that one reason for this is because about 95% of the world's Hindus live in one country, India. Since it's not as widespread as, say, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, or Buddhism, it doesn't get as much press. Also, I think you're right to mention the fact that it's probably because Hindus don't seek to convert others like members of some other religions do.

it is the significant concern Mr. Ganesh. you word the way Christianity and Islam have spread all international. Why have they spread so extensively or maybe more desirable ideal than Hinduism?? this is because the Christian and Islamic international places spread their very own faith with violence, compulsion and imperialism for the hunt of organic components. while Hinduism, which regrettably remained restricted to India, is using precise right here motives:- a million) As India is carefully wealthy in organic components, the Hindu scholars, leaders and kings did not imagine of leaving the rustic and spread their values, empire to the different land. They knew it because once you've study historic previous then you actually will locate that India had a valid commerce relation with different civilizations like the Greeks, Romans and the Egyptians. 2) As a faith, Hinduism is very very versatile, versatile and bigger open compared to its opposite numbers (Christianity and Islam). the persons of India, noticeably the Hindu-Indians are open, satisfied, cheerfull and are smooth-hearted than the enthusiast human beings of a few thing of the international. And besides, it really is declared that the language Sanskrit is the source of each of the languages in the international. some Sanskrit words are also stated in the Bible too. So, why ought to Indians hassle, enable us sense free.

It is the world's oldest religion, it is so deep that people take a long time to really understand the depth of it - the language is basically in Sanskrit that it took long for people to assimilate it in recent decades/centuries - only now it is in modern day languages and easy to be understood better - the crux of Hinduism is to live a godly live, not try to convert others and enter into controversies - hence you do not find it talked about as much as the more 'controversial' religions!

I don't hear a whole lot about Hinduism but kind of thought it was because I live in America. I do know some Hindu people here and they are lovely. No they do not try to convert anyone.

=> 3rd largest religion - yes but most of the hindus are not into its deep philosohy and follow a simple path
=> Why we dont convert others - We dont condemn other faiths and believe that as all rivers are rushing towards ocean, all faiths are pointing to Truth
=> Hindus never attacked any country in the name of religion, no war to spread Hinduism.
=> Hindus are basically peaceful and dont want attention.. they never do cheap propaganda to attract people to their faith. Their moto is "we are there...come and find us if you wish"

Yes, because Hindus are peaceful, do not convert others, do not highlight their religion and do not call others names. You are right.

Hindus and Muslims have generally not been peaceable. Pakinstan was created in part to give Muslims refuge who lived in India.
Hinduism also isn't a unified religion. It is better understood as an umbrella term that includes several different religious practices.

Dear Sai Ganesh,
You forgot to mention that zoroastrianism had also derived from hinduism. The founder (zoroaster) was a hindu brahmin and when he established zoroastrianism, his goal was to add to hinduism and not to create a new religion independent of hinduism.

Sorry Charlie, but the Hindus and Buddhist are fighting a war against each other in India, which is not a peaceful place to be.; In fact, it is also one of the several most sexist places in the world,. For example, Indian are well sexist is a mild word to describe them. An Indian women told me a better word is extreme. They abuse and kill their women there without penalty. In fact, it is routine to burn, yes burn their women. Check it out on the Internet if you don't believe this. I got a lot of the info first hand from educated Indian women...who are being educated outside of their country...they don't want to return their.
So like Christians, folks, these people are hypocrites too! And the men are horribly extreme and violent sexist.

Hmm...maybe people seldom talk about it because their religion is really only big in one part of the world?
Wow, that would make sense.
