Always follow your heart. Find employment you enjoy that doesn't compromise your integrity and pays the bills. Keep your spending under control, pay all your bills on time, and put aside 10% of every paycheck for retirement. (If you believe in titheing for the Church, that's another 10%.) Give everyone your respect until they lose it, but no one your trust until they earn it. The people who matter will always be more impressed by your power to reason and the content of your character than by flashy material things. When you give up a bad habit, save the money you would have spent toward a personal reward. Read a good book now and then. Remember what you say and keep your promises. Smile whenever you answer the phone - it comes through at the other end. Avoid public intoxication. Drive carefully and wear your seatbelt. Always be kind to children and pets. Tip generously. And find someone you can really love, with all your heart, for the rest of your life.

Have a can-do kind of attitude. Make a plan, and stick to it. If the plan does not work, change it. Take care of the rough spots in life as they come along. Do not procrastinate, or you will find yourself with too many problems to deal with. If the plumbing breaks, you can fix it, can-do. If the girlfriend leaves, you can find another, can-do.
And on the practical side, be a good manager of money. Get a budget, and stick to it. Save for retirement, and for the finer things in life. It is a big stress reliever to know you have enough money in the bank to deal with the problems life can throw at you, you will not have to live hand to mouth.
This attitude has been with me for a lot of years, and has worked very well. I would not change a thing.

You need to accept Christ--ask Him into your heart to forgive your sins--and give up your life and let Him direct your paths. He gave His life for you-- if you follow Him, live for Him--you don't have to worry about anything--much less managing your life--He already has it mapped out for you--just let Him in and He will lead you.

Be aware, expect the best for yourself, have a good attitude and follow an ethical standard. And realize what is important and what isn't.

I don't normally agree with anything Greg M says, but he's given you some pretty profound advice this time.
