As everyone knows what goes around comes around. but why? For example: let's say a person is making fun of somebody else that is overweight. 10yrs later that person who thought being fat was so funny is now the size of a killer baby whale, someone that cheated on their wife/husband with another lover and begins to fall in love the other lover only to find that the lover is cheating on them too, or a guy refuses to take care of his kid because he hates his baby momma and he falls in love with another woman (has a child with her) only to find that the love of his life cheated on him and the kid he's been caring for isn't his. These are just mere examples of the karma I'm talkin about. Do you think God created this?If so why? Is it to make life a little more fair? I know good and bad things happen to everyone but I'm just talkin about karma. Bad things that happen because we deserve it from doing something wrong in the past. Please if you don't believe in God just skip this question.

Let's take the Christian view that we were created by God. Why would a loving being create children and then require worship? Why would this creation be given the ability to think and decide and then be expected to put that on the shelf so we can worship the creator without so much as asking why?

Nothing in revelations suggests that people will be sucked up to heaven before the tribulation, in fact the bible says that EVERYONE WILL LIVE THROUGH IT HERE ON EARTH.

Where does the idea of the rapture come from?

Why do people oppose it so much? It is a common misconception that kids raised with a particular religion will turn out just like their parents. I attended a Christian school, and the kids that were the LEAST tolerant of the religion, were the kids that were raised with it all their lives. They merely went through the motions. My best friend, while VERY fanatical in her teen years, as an adult as turned out to be very open minded now that she has grown up. So why should we care, if people choose to raise kids in a religion??

In my expierence, it usually works against the parents, not for them.

read this article about it. It covers what Leviticus said and DIDN'T say about gays. Levitius also said that it's ok to kill someone for working on saturday or for handling a pig skin (any religious people out there like football ??)

It also covers what JESUS said about gays WHICH IS NOTHING!
He never said a thing about it.

This guy talks about the bible and corrects a lot of myths about what is and isn't written.

Anybody who give a Christian answer gets a ton of thumbs down, while any answer that bashes Christians gets a plethura of thumbs up. Why are they so mean and narrowminded? I thought they were supposed to be enlightened and open to new ideas?

Just because you can stand on a soap box and spout your beliefs does not make you any more moral than anyone else. It is your actions that define you, not your belief in a religion or in God.

Do they understand that all World Leaders make war,

That what freaks out Westerners is that even the regular individuals of Islam kill for their religion.
The notion of a struggle against an occupier(Israel and Palestine) can be noble. But when you attach the belief that you get 72 virgins in heaven for blowing yourself up, it loses its nobility.

I have also never seen a Christian beheading a muslim and start cheering about it. Thats INSANE, like horror movie insane.

What gives?

Are they more logical? Were they introduced to religion in a negative light? Were they taught to disbelieve?

These questions do not only pertain to Atheism. Does religion come from the individual? the home? just by chance?

To those who don't want religion taught to kids, not even by their parents in their own homes, I have a question.

Is your problem only with Christianity, or with all religions? Would you be as up in arms and screaming "brainwashing" if I were a Jewish woman who wanted to raise her son Jewish, including sending her son to Hebrew school. OR if I were a Wiccan and wanted to teach my kids my religion. Would these be "brainwashing" and "forcing" or do you only think that way about Christianity?

I ask because everytime I see the topic of teaching kids religion, the term brainwashing always comes up in connection to Christianity. Thank you for your responses.
