The heretical, protestant apes are running amock, spreading their false gospel, and corrupting the R&S section of Y!Answers. It must not be borne! It's high time to put a stop to it. Don't you agree my fellow Saints and Catholics?

Jesus save us from those 'christian' apes!

Why do we report stuff unless its actively abusive and harrasive? And for those who don't read much

(Context)
I think I just got reported by a Christian for posting a question asking if Christians could try tactics other than screaming their lungs out at people that they are going to Hell. I would be suprised if a Pagan would find it offensive that a Christian would want to encourage others (and honestly, themselves) to speak gently and with love.

(Actual Question...to prove that there is one)

So Christians, how old are we? And what kind of Christian would report another for asking a question about how we comport ourselves, even on Answers.com. Everywhere we are, we are being judged. Our words and actions directly reflect on people's opinions of Christianity as a whole. So what would it take to help each other act with love and maturity?

Why do all those who have found, or are dedicated to a religion believe or even assume that the rest of us should follow in your footsteps?

and please don't cut and paste the bible or use quotes from the same place... Answer the question using your own evidence (note the words - your own evidence) of 'God', etc etc.

I'm an atheist in a dialogue with a Christian friend who does not accept evolution. This friend recently gave me a little book about evolution vs. creation - you know the type, with all the same arguments you have heard before. I'm reading that and preparing to talk to him about it.

Anyway, my reaction to theists handing out tracts and other literature is always to return the favor. Seems to me to be a positive way to respond to the situation. I was thinking about letting him read my copy of The Selfish Gene, but I think that may be a little too complicated for this particular person.

So I was wondering if there is any book you know of that you would recommend (other than a text book, of course) that deals with not just evolution, but more specifically evolution vs. creation? Kinda like Talk Origins Creationist Claim index in book form? Thanks!

If you have experienced one or more OOBs could you briefly describe the experience and how it was achieved. If this is something you do repeatedly, what in your opinion is the best way to achieve this state? Also, do you discuss your experiences with family and/or friends? If not, why not? Thanks.

Marriage is an religious ceremony instituted by God, right? So even a court wedding is still, in a sense, a "religious" ceremony in it's root. Why would they want to participate in a practice that inherently glorifies God. Is this more proof of atheistic hypocrisy?

For anyone familiar with this event, do you think that watching horror or violent movies late at night can have an effect on how often this happens? My mom is retired and stays up late watching TV (though she usually falls asleep with the TV on). As of late, she has been telling me she's has had the weirdest feelings. She was dreaming that she was sitting there on the couch and that my dad was next to her, and my wife and I in the room all watching a movie (RV, actually...pretty funny movie!) This was all true, but she fell asleep and it made its way into her dreamstate. In her dream she started asking a question but no one answered her. No one had even heard her. Then she saw our cat jump up on the couch and sit next to my dad. As she went to pet it, the cat jumped down off the couch. Then she woke up and asked why we didn't answer her. We told her she didn't say anything...she was asleep. She asked about the cat and we told her the cat wasn't even in the room. She says...

If Noah carried two of every animal on the ark, and there is no such thing as evolution, then why is it several hundred species are discovered every year? Given the fact that there are over 7 million different types of species, don't you think the ark would have been a little crowded?

Do you believe his teachings were moral? Where, at the time he was supposed to have lived, there was massive intolerance of things, such as sexual immorality, (stoning people to death for committing such), promoted through the God that was worshipped, he taught people to look into themselves for their own wrong doings.

Lets just agree, for sake of argument, Jesus was just a man, not a God, not a son of God, were his general teachings good moral practices?

I am not working at a point to prove Jesus was a Christ, just curious to see how he himself is viewed by atheists.

Does your god demand you act this way? Do you feel the need to threaten violence and rapture and even death to all disenters to sate his ever-growing thirst for blood?

All religions allegedly preach peace and love, but then a non-delusional skeptic reads your books, and it's violence and lust for power and authority. And, this one begot that one and so on.

Just wondering why, in the many years of holy book study, some of the first responses to anyone saying "I am an Atheist." elicits rage in some of you peace-loving yahoos.

can see God in the symbol of a wooden cross.
One who knows God
sees God in the wood and not the cross.

How could it be more moral to be moral if your doing it out of fear of God verses being moral because you simply want to do whats right? Because if your doing it out of fear and intimidation of hel l and not bc its in your heart, than your really not moral whatsoever, just "smart" enough to avoid the repercussions, just as those who behave just to stay out of jail. But for those who are moral, just to be,because its the right thing to do and they dont do it bc their worried to death over eternal fire, its still valueless morality because your going to meet satan one day regardless of the life you live. So in effect, being saved (which I have been) is just a "get out of hel l free card". Do what you want, rape, kill, ect bc you have been saved bc you believe in Jesus, all is forgiven. What a load of bull. All religious books were written by humans all believing whats being written is what Gods will is. All these humans deciding what God wants, judging endlessly over what the truth is.

Agree or disagree? And why?

'I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: 'I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God.' That is one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of thing Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic—on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg—or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.' -C.S. Lewis

Do you also assert there is no Jesus? Not Jesus as son of God, or Messiah and Savior, but that there was no Jesus at all? There has been evidence, confirmed by non Christian writers, that affirm there was a man, in the same time period, that lead followers.

My question is:
Do you believe Jesus ( a man, not God, or part of God) lived?

And if so, do you believe he was crazy, mislead, or simply over played?
