If you have experienced one or more OOBs could you briefly describe the experience and how it was achieved. If this is something you do repeatedly, what in your opinion is the best way to achieve this state? Also, do you discuss your experiences with family and/or friends? If not, why not? Thanks.

Marko F,
Yes. I have had at least one of those. It was before I became Christian, and I was above my body for a few seconds, I could see/sense my body a foot or two below my spiritual body.

You know, some people might come to some other conclusion, but what it did for me, after I found out what the f' it was, was that there was no longer any doubt for me that there was a spirit living in me, my spirit.

So without that major block (for some) out of the way, I could then attempt to find out what it all meant. If there was more to life than what we could normally see, how much more was out there, and was there a purpose to it all, or and order to it all?

Years later I became convinced that IF the Bible was true, I could pray a prayer and recieve an acceptance from God, who would otherwise be against me. And so I tried it when I was alone, and that was a VERY eventful thing! I don't know if I was in my body or not, but I ended up in a place where things were different than the dark bedroom that I was in. And there were others there too. I think that it was heaven, and it was a large enough place, I couldn't see God, but the peace was perfect, and the others were doing whatever they set out to do (I think that it didn't have anything to do with me.) I was there to witness heaven, but I don't know why, though I certainly am thankful for it. Who wouldn't be? lol

I had flying dreams too. They were more like the type of flying that is portrayed in Peter Pan. Where the trees below were at arms reach at times, and there were others with me, not that I knew them. I also don't know where we were going.

But I am so glad to have been a part of those experiences.

I hope that helped you.

I have had multipe OBE's, and do so fairly regularly. I use two different techniques, one involves a trusted friend and a bundle of leather straps (do the math), the other involves firedance, where I build a large fire and circle it, occasionally passing arms or legs or even my whole body through the flames to the point of hyperthermia and exhaustion. Either way, the result is the same -- I push my brain into an altered awareness and go "overthere."

In all of my OBE's, I find myself in a dimly lit cave with a large wolf that I recognize from a near-death experience I had as being Fenrir Wolf of norse mythology. Only once has there been another presence, and even then it was unseen, but I recognized it to by Tyr, the norse god of Justice, who placed his hand in Fenrir's jaw as a promise that the chains used to bind Fenrir would be removed and then lost that hand when Fenrir realized the Aesir (the norse gods) had betrayed him and did not loose the chains.

Fenrir is always there with intense self revelation. In the NDE, there was no revelation, no sense of awakening, just an invitation to return. The first time I returned, Fenrir and I shared a pain so deep that words can never describe it; when I returned, I had to physically fight to pull myself from the ground and into a private, secluded spot, and I let loose a howl that contained a pain that will haunt me for the rest of my life to know a human heart can hold such pain. I cried for hours, literally, and was unable to speak for those hours (though I could make use of sign language... this I never understood, but it is a consistent occurance).

I do not, however, believe that Fenrir is real, a spirit or a demigod, or whatever you might consider such a being. For me, he is a symbol created out of my own mind while I'm in such an altered state (the wolf plays an overwhelmingly primary role in my personal symbology, almost to the exclusion of all others). He represents those truths I cannot find any other way than to dissociate myself from myself. He once looked me in the eyes and out of respect to his alpha standing, I went to look away and he forced my chin back up and said, "No. I am your truth. Do not look away." Symbol or not, real or not, it's never mattered to me or to him... only the revelation and the time spent together matters.

Yeah, twice when I was a kid. I was in what I saw as a dangerous situation. Once it was being screamed at by a strange adult who just stopped their car and started in on my while I was a grade school crossing assistant. Once I was totally out of control on my bike about to have a really bad wreck. Both times I seemed to see the entire area, say a 15 foot radius, from about 20 feet up in the air. my point of view was somewhere behind my body. I have no idea why it happened or how to do it again. I guess it was because I was truly in fear for my life. It isn't something I discuss, but the subject has never came up. If it did, I would tell about my experiences.

Yes I have.
I will briefly explain however due to my schedule I would like to go in more detail later, if you are interested.
I literally felt my organs collapsing and the horrid pain of my body dying. I did enter into another dimension that was quickly transporting me through a section of area that was nothing even close to what you hear about. I felt everything that accompanied this experience, knew in my mind it was happening (not a dream state) and begged and pleaded with all my heart to be forgiven and allow my return. In a blink of an eye I did. No pain after returning and I actually felt great. It was amazing.

I've had random occurrences that were not intentional on my part. One, in particular, always comes to mind back when I was in grade school. I was sitting in art class and suddenly found myself looking down from the ceiling at myself and the class.

I don't know how or why it happened and have been trying to find that state ever since.
