Allah, God, Yahweh (insert your preferred name for God here) is way more than male or female. God is ineffable. God transcends human gender.

This comes from the patriarchal societies that Judaism was born in, which continued in Christian and Muslim times when those religions started as well. Back then, men had all the power and women had very little.

Also, Judaism was one of the first religions not to have a god and a goddess, which was a major departure. Since Christianity and Islam are offshoots of Judaism, the goddess was left behind as well.

God is simply God, no matter what your personal name for God is. A being who made the whole universe isn't male or female, but much, much more.

Cheers, K

I would consider Allah as a male concept (although I know He has no form) since that the religous practice give less importance to the female society. In my observations, you can count the number of women who holds responsible positions in their community. It is not only in the Muslim world that God have been addressed as He. The Queen of Heaven in the Catholic tradition is addressed as the Mother of God and God is called the Father although not her groom because she was married to another man named Joseph and not even her Son because her Son was a man named Jesus. Jesus was said to be the begotten Son of God which puzzles me how it happened since God has no form and no gender. The word "Father" is normally used as a term for a creator or inventor. Maybe that is where "HE" was used.

Allah (swt) refers to Himself as He in the Quran

Surah Al-Ikhlas (sincerity)

Say he is Allah, the One and only

Allah the Eternal absolute,

He begetteth not, nor He is begotten

And there is none like unto Him.

I hope that this quote from the Quran is sufficient evidence for the answer you require for your question.

Peace!

Allah , the Almighty Creator, does not look like anything in the universe.
The Creator does not look like the things created.
He is not a father, son, male or female..

The creator of all always gets the masculine gender, just like cars are referred to in the feminine gender. Hurricanes I think were only referred as feminine until the last 10 or so years.

Allah is refered to He so that people can understand better. Allah is a divine entity and cannot be described in the same way that people are described.

G-d is neither male or female. he's referred to as a he, but thats just because he is the neutral gender in most languages, and its better than calling G-d "it".

Allah, Yaweh and the Christian God are all male and all the same God. They are all based on the same old book.
