Midge,
I think that most people haven't heard of the 'bad theive's cross' until now. I know that I haven't.
So no, I don't think that they worry about it.
The symbol next to my name is the X-Men symbol. The reason why I like it is because I am a new creation in Christ Jesus. Something other than just human. In essensce, a mutant, with the life giving Holy Spirit indwelling in me because of faith and His word.
I am making a statement that I am other than of this world, the flesh only world, the natural world. I am rather a part of the supernatural world, though I still have flesh, I also have the Spirit of God living in me.
Those that wear a bit of jewelry in the form of a cross have all kinds of reasons for it. But I noticed that some use it as an idol, something that I am very against.

First of all Was there a good thief? The cross symbolizes whatever you want in to simbolyze. Some people say that Everyone must bear there own cross. Maybe people where cosses with no crucifix for that reason...To carry their own cross. I have a cross I wear. I wear it as an aknowledgment of my faith. Iwear don't wear a crucifix because my saviour is not dead. He rose and that's cause for jubilee. By wearing a crucifix I would look at it and probably mourn the death of Jesus.
So to answer your question, I never though it may represent the bad thief. There was never a reason for me to think it and once I leave this post I'll never even remember reading or writing this post. (Until I look through the list of questions I answered)

I choose to wear a cross and not a crucifix, cuz, He isn't on the cross anymore. He is risen!! Why leave Him hanging there on a chain around my neck. That's kinda creepy to me. The cross is a symbol, a reminder of what He did for me.
It's not something I do because the Bible tells me to or anything. Why do we wear ball caps of our fave team? It's a symbol of something that we support!

Wearing a cross or crucifix is not different then the wearing of any other charm. It is a pagan practice, and has No Biblical foundation at all, no not in the least.

Thats a funny question.
Did the bad thief start a movement that symbolized itself with a cross?

LOL, actually, if Jesus were real, he might be upset at seeing a cross. After all, it represents a pretty bad day that he had around 2000 years ago.

... or even the device that probably hundreds of thousands of Romans were crucifed on?
It's similar to wearing a guillotine or an electric chair replica around your neck. Gruesome.

I think most people know what is meant by that. By that logic, you could be representing any of the thousands of people that were crucified, including Spartacus

No, my cross is empty because my Savior is alive. That is what it's all about.
