How people just ignore what your trying to say? As soon as you try to tell them about Jesus they close up and resort to name-calling. I recently tried to talk about it with some girls at school and they told me not to talk about it there. (and their supposed to be christians, mind you!) I do not go around and try to "preach it up" to people, and all i hear is seperation of church and state. What about freedom of religion? the right to speech? anyone out there agree? (and if you just come to shout "There is no God!" then just shut it. Ive heard it all before, and not once has anyone given me evidence. If you can't prove there isn't a God, then how do you then how do you know there isn't one? I need support here...

Very few of the preachers on TV today are backed by or held accountable to any denomination or overseeing authority. Why do you think that is?

Of course, there are exceptions (Charles Stanley is a Southern Baptist, D.James Kennedy is part of the Presbyterian Church of America, etc.).

I crushed both my hands in a nasty accident but after the operation I asked the doctor if I would be able to play the piano, and he said yes.

P.S. I couldn't play the piano before the accident.

Evangelicals may reject reason fully and atheists may reject faith, but do moderate Christians reject both faith and reason equally?

I'm referring to the miracles mentioned in the Bible such as walking on water or turning water to mind. Moderate Christians may claim that they should not be taken literally as they merely add color to the life of Jesus.

However, what gives a moderate Christian the right to choose which miracles to accept and which to reject?

I'm sure certain miracles cannot be rejected by them such as the Virgin Birth and the Resurrection, and if you have the ability to cherry pick, what is the Bible for in the first place? I'm sure it didn't tell you to choose which miracles to follow.

On DISC, A&E, BIO, or similar. The same evening this show was on the HIST channel: "In Search of History: Secret Brotherhood of Freemasons" at the same time. Went over how the Catholic church revised the Bible to where Satan was made more heinous than originally, and how the Pope added the "seven deadly sins". Also discussed the way Satan has been depicted in art through history( color, size, features, ect.)

permission???
Aryan husbands cut off the ears and nose of their wives if they left the house without their prior permission. The Pancatantra mentions one such story [Pancatantra p.54, I.7th story "The Weaver’s Wife"]. The weaver cut off his wife’s nose because she did not respond and he considered her unfaithful. (actually he cut off the barber’s wife’s nose who was there instead.) The Ramayana and Lord Rama practiced the cutting off of womens’ noses for minor offences, thereby providing divine sanction for the custom. Shurpanakha was a Dravidian lady ( referred to as Rakshis or female demons by the Aryans) who fell in love with Rama. She proposed to him, but he directed her to his brother Laxman. He cut off her ears and nose for this crime, and Ram condoned this act.
