Evangelicals may reject reason fully and atheists may reject faith, but do moderate Christians reject both faith and reason equally?

I'm referring to the miracles mentioned in the Bible such as walking on water or turning water to mind. Moderate Christians may claim that they should not be taken literally as they merely add color to the life of Jesus.

However, what gives a moderate Christian the right to choose which miracles to accept and which to reject?

I'm sure certain miracles cannot be rejected by them such as the Virgin Birth and the Resurrection, and if you have the ability to cherry pick, what is the Bible for in the first place? I'm sure it didn't tell you to choose which miracles to follow.

True Christians must believe that the whole Bible, the full gospel, is the inerrant, unchanging and eternal word of God. Christians reject certain miracles in the Bible because they lack the faith to believe those miracles. If God has created the heavens and the earth and everything in it what are the problems with those little miracles? Christians must be consistent and full of faith..

There is no such thing as a "moderate Christian" You are either with God and obey His word or you are not with Him and you do not have the choice of obeying part of His word. Where did you get that way of thinking? It is totally false.

Jesus did infact walk on water. Jesus did infact turn water into wine. I am a Christian and I take the entire word of God as the truth and the total truth. Those who don't are not with God, and do not obey His word.

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Self proclaimed Chrsitians are among those who the above scripture referrs to. Those who claim to be of Jesus, but do not do the will and obey His Father which is in heaven.

The bible is not multiple choice where you can pick and choose which scripture you accept and believe. We as complete Christians accept the bible and the total true word of God. There is no middle ground, no sitting on the fence, and no such thing as a moderate Christian.

Dear weedee, Faith and reason Go hand in hand. Think of it like this, you sit down in a chair, Do you think before you sit down in a chair? do you ever stop to examine the seat to make sure its secure or examine the legs to make sure there fastened tightly? of course not, you by faith sit in the cair and trust that whoever made the chair knew what they were doing, this is an example of faith. Heres and example of reason. You, see a buidling, How do you know there was a Builder? The Biuilding is 100% sceintific proof that there was a Builder. This is called reasoning. Now, to be able to get something done from this buider, you must trust that he is professional and has a sound mind and good sense. this takes faith. faith and reason Go hand in hand. How do I know there is a Creator? I can look around me and see the creation. the creation is 100% proof that there was a creator. Now, If I want the creator, God to do something for me, I must have faith that he is, and that he is a rewarder of al who dilligently seek Him. Faith and reason, tats the difference between mer man made religion and Christianity.

Heres another good question for you, How will you d when you face God on the Day of Judgement? heres a few questions............

Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; and the BIble say's'He who hates his brother is a Murderer," have you ever hated someone? if you have said yes to these three questions, by yor own admission your a lying theiving blasphemous adulterer at heart, and thats How God sees you and you will have to face Him on the day of Judgement. if God Judges you by this standard, would you be innocent or guilty? Listen to your conscience. You know that you will be guilty, and therefore end up in Hell. you may say "I dont blive i hell", but that wont change reality, you still have to face God on the day of Judgement whether you belive it or not. Are you concerned you could go to hell? it should deeply concern us, because we Love our life, we wouldnt dare gamble our lives by playing with a Gun, or running redlights. If our Physical Lives are of so Much importance, How much more valuable is the life of your eternal soul? theres good news, God sent His Son to take our punishment: "God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." He was bruised for our iniquities. Jesus then rose from the dead and defeated death.
Your own so-called “goodness” can’t get you into heaven any more than mine could. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. He is the "Door," the only "mediator." There is salvation in no other name and If you wll repent (turn from sin) and place your faith and trust in jesus, God will forgive you of all sins, past, present and future and grant you the gift of everlastinglife. Please, if you havent, get your heart right with he Lord today, because theres nothing more important thatn your eternal salvation.
God Bless

Christians should learn to connect the biblical dots;
For the Bible defines itself as allegory and mystery:

Whatsoever is not of faith is sin: Romans 14:23
The law is not of faith: Galatians 3:12

Our Father, deliver us from evil: Matthew 6:13
We are delivered from the law: Romans 7:6

Christ is the end of the law: Romans 10:4

If you're attempting to be justified by law,
then you've fallen from grace: Galatians 5:4

It's all about law -vs- grace.
The end is already written:

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ WITH YOU ALL. AMEN.

The bible is inspired of God....God says all scripture is beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for diciplining in righteousnes.....All of the miracles are real....Jesus performed these to bring glory to his father Jehovah God.
The bible was written to the spirit annointed 144,000 humans that were to be taken from the earth to rule as kings and priests with Jesus in heaven for 1000 years. They are of the little flock. We are of the great crowd. We will inherit the earth that they will rule over. The new heavens are the cleansed heavens....free of satan and his demon followers. The new earth will be when Jesus and the heavenly angels war with satan and abyss him for 1000 years....The earth and its inhabitants will be cleansed of all wickedness, the dead will rise, and the people will be taught of Jehovahs purpose for the earth. If they agree they get to stay. If they disagree they will go to sleep and never come back.
Satan will be loosed for a short time to mislead humanity once again...then he along with those he gets to follow him will be thrown into the lake of fire along with death...never to be seen again. They will not fry...they will just cease to exist. Everlasting cutting off. Jehovah will finally be vindicated that he does have the right to rule humans as was brought into question in the garden of eden.

>> what is the Bible for in the first place? <<

1) It's not a history book

2) It's not a science book

It never claims to be.

It has one purpose, and one purpose only: It contain all things necessary for salvation. It points the way to Jesus Christ.

Period.

Jrrose, you do now not comprehend what Bible based faith is, so which you won't be able to comprehend. Hebrews 11:one million defines what Biblical faith is: "11 faith is the certain expectation of issues was hoping for, the obtrusive demonstration of realities nonetheless now not beheld. 2 For via capacity of this the lads of previous circumstances had witness borne to them." notice certain EXPECTATION of issues was hoping for. it particularly is now not blind faith. once you hire somebody to do artwork on your place or on your motor vehicle, do you whip out a pocket packed with money to the 1st individual who walks down your highway? with a bit of luck now not. that could be blind faith. maximum questioning human beings ask around and view on previous strikes and results of jobs performed for others with comparable complications.
