Do you think the established "churches" are now outdated. I was brought up as a Roman Catholic and even though I still believe in god I do not feel that the Pope represents me and I haven't been in a church for a long time. I always felt that mass was nothing but going through the motions and that I had repeated the prayers so often they no longer have any meaning. I feel that "most" individuals try to live their lives by the so called 10 commandments so do we really need to label ourselves Catholic, Christian,Sikh,Muslim etc? From what I see on the news and read in the papers it only causes problems anyway. (Crusades etc)

or the wrong kind, which is often the case, turn people away from God? I think it can, I'm friends with a ministers daughter, and it has turned her completely off!
What are your views about this? Is thier a solution for a person who has had religion crammed down their throat? Is it their fault they want nothing to do with religion?
How do we, as a Bible believing person, encourage their faith, and not push them away?

Suppose we are captured by some crazy religious militants. They threatened to kill us in a very embarassing, and humiliating way. We will be stripped completely naked and then executed by beheading publicy. Being stripped completely naked before crowd is very embarassing for woman, not to say the following beheading execution.

Then we are given two choice, first we agree to make statement in public condenming our own religion, or second we go straight to the execution. Which one we will choose?

This may a very strange question, but this continue tickling in my head. I often ask to myself, can I bear this if this really happened to me? Am I a traitor or a brave woman?

Accepting a religion means approving of the manner with which it deals with rule-breakers, be it estrangement, decapitation, or hell. The punishment rarely fits the crime. Adulterers in Islam are stoned. Homosexuals suffer lasting torment in Christianity.

Does this make the morals of religion rationally immoral? Why doesn't accepting these faiths make believers complicit in murder or torture?

I am a practising muslim, i pray 5 times a day. I don't think hijab is necessary in this day & age.Hijab was introduced when the life of women was difficult and it was a danger for women not to wear it at that time. But now it is a danger to wear it, people who wear the hijab get all kinds of abuse and humiliation. After 9/11 wearing the hijab has increased a lot. If the war and terror in the Middle East stops maybe these women will think about integrating more.Wearing a label is not as necessary as practising. Some people still do bad things whilst wearing a label. Is it right to hide under the label of a muslim?

As far as I know, it is, as long as you acknowledge Africa (esp ethiopia) as the origin of man, and believe in Haile Selassie as a prophet/living god.

But what are other people's views? I have never known any white rastas.
