That is because you are breaking the word up incorrectly.
The correct way to break it up is
Christ-ian-ity

Christ = That is Obviouse, that is reference to the Messiah, Jesus Christ

ian = the meaning of 'ian' is the 'belonging to' or 'loyalty to' or even adhered to 'likeness'...EG:
AustralIIAN (belonging to Australia)...ItalIAN (Belonging to Italy)...AmericAN (Belonging to America)...IndIAN (belonging to India)
Thus in this context, a ChristIAN is one that believes in Christ, belongs to Christ, Loyal to Christ

ity = that is self-explaintory. Basically the pointing to the Christian faith.

I hope I managed to help somewhat...God Bless

that is because the suffix -anity is not a suffix at all. "Christianity" is made up of three parts: "Christ" + "ian" + "ity". The Christ part is obvious, referring to "Jesus Christ", and means "the Anointed One" (from the Greek Christos). The "-ian-" means "of or related to", (librarian, Orwellian, and so forth) therefore, "Christian" means "follower of Christ" and the "(-)ity" is a suffix used to create generally abstract nouns, such as Christianity, liberty, equality, electricity, and so forth.

Christ is the root word, obviously for Jesus Christ, Christ meaning Messiah I believe. -ian means of, related to, or resembling, for example Canadian, or Bostonian. So our religion is related to Christ, so we are called Christian. Adding -ity makes Christian a noun, so the Christian religion is Christianity. I hope this helps. I don't think that it would be "ANITY" but "ITY" which means "State"

So that would be "Christian" + "ity"
(Christian State)
