Many Jehovah's Witnesses are lovely people , very nice, polite, and well-meaning......and a pleasure to know.
I try to be equally polite in my response to them, and they generally go away at least content that someone has taken even just a minute to pass the time of day with them.
I am certainly not hostile towards them purely because we share different beliefs about the same religion. Yes, Witnesses are also Christians, as are Roman Catholics and so many other branches of Christianity. Let's just live and let live.
Wars have started over less.

M&Ms - Acts 15: 28, 29;
Sorry, had to answer her question first.
I find it so funny when people talk about how rude they are to us when they come to our door because in my personal experience, I find that 90% of the people I find are very friendly and polite. They may not want to talk, they may not want to read the Watchtower or hear a verse read to them, but the vast majority are at least polite. If someone tells me they are not interested, I may ask why not but if they don't want to tell me or go any further, I hope they have a nice day and I'm off to the neighbors' house.
The best way to have us not call back is simply to ask us to make a record that they don't want to be called on. We might try back in six months or a year in case the person has moved, but we won't call regularly as with the rest of the neighborhood. That's the only way to get rid of us. Showing up at the door in your undies doesn't work.

Jehovah's Witnesses are NOT salesmen. They are simply just trying to find people who have some interest in the message they bring. There is no need to be rude to them , if you're not interested just tell them and they'll go away. If you are REALLY bothered by them calling on you, ask to be put down as a "DO NOT CALL". A record of your address is noted down and they will not generally call on you. Many other christian groups are going door-to-door, not just JW's or Mormons etc.

Your lucky if it is Jehovah's Witnesses as all you need do is ask them to put you on their Do Not Call list. They may return in about 6 months in case the house has changed hands but you only need tell them again!
They dont threaten you with HELL and DAMNATION either.
Mormons and some others are impossible to get rid of!
My sister goes round door to door! She is a 'Born again' Christian and tells me she is following Jesus' instructions by doing it.
She is FAR more annoying and wont take No for an answer!
I admire Witnesses and have friends and family who follow their faith, none try to convert me and accept that I have my own beliefs (Atheist)

What are Jehovah's Witnesses selling? It's not magazines or books. If the householder expresses interest but has no money, he still gets to keep the literature that is offered him. The person leaving the publication is the one paying for it with money out of his own pocket, not to mention time and gasoline for his car just to get to the doors.
In compliance with Jesus' final command to preach the "Good News", what are the church leaders doing? Nothing but taking money from their members to pay for their cars and /or houses.
If you feel you have the right understanding of the Bible, why be rude to Jehovah's Witnesses when they come around? Isn't it your God-given obligation to share your beliefs with them--if you have any?

I am not mean to them at all. They are actually doing what God intended, to spread the word. That is what life is supposed to be all about, the word. But in today's world, we revolve around everything like our jobs and technology etc. And I have read the books they leave for me. Most of what I have read is what most christians believe anyways. The main reason people get so offended by them is the fact that they don't celebrate christmas. And I don't know how many times I have seen the christmas question on here. About it being a peagan holiday because the Bible speaks nowhere if celebrating christmas like it does easter. So I don't know, I think it's cruel to be mean to them just because of their religion. If you don't want to talk to them, just politely tell them so from the beginning and they will leave you alone. I have never met one yet that would not do that if someone asked. Well, thats my opinion.

They don't come to the area where I live and, the last time one came to see me (we are going back about ten years) I'd got a really bad hangover and had to run off to be sick! Funnily enough they'd gone by the time I went back to the front door!!! I understand they want to spread their words around but if I don't want to listen, I am not going to. I don't have a problem with them but don't like the invasion of privacy that they come to me in my own home without invitation. Sounds harsh but I'm only being truthful. I would politely say not interested and close the door on them.

Well, it just so happened that we had two of them on our doorstep not long ago. Both my partner and myself told them what path we follow and what we are (Pagan/Wiccan Witches, not dark ones). Anyway, we had a very good debate about alot of things, but it was light hearted, absolutely none of this "we are right, and there is only one God" business from them. They listened, we listened, we questioned, they questioned. I did point out though, that many religions are against spiritualism etc, including mediums.but who was the worlds most famous medium?...Jesus was!.To which they replied "ah, you're right there!",lol. It was statements, a healthy discussion, and no anger or rudeness from either parties. They left smiling and all wished each other to take care and good look on their paths. Next time though (if there will be a next time), i must remember to get out my Witches Bible and broom.cackle cackle!.

I either tell them I am a Catholic or something else,bu if they say do I want to be a Jehovah's Witness I tell them I did not see the accident and shut the door.
On a serious note I don't like religious people knocking at my door anyway as I do not believe in any of them and don't want their beliefs forced on me.
