If Islam accepts people of other religions to convert into thiers, shouldn't it mean muslims should be allowed to convert into other religions of thier choice?

Religion and evolution are essentially opposites. Some religionists try to create a freakish hybrid between crusty-ole religious beliefs and the scientific fact of evolution, but this is only because they dont really understand evolution.

Often, the angst behind racial differences comes from fear, in the subconsious mind, of the reality of evolution.Jokes about people from different races being like primates really reflects a fear about the reality of evolution. Its almost as if the mere notice of racial difference gives us an intutive sense of evolution.

If everyone accepted the truth of evolution, then you wouldnt have any of this anxiety, after all, isnt it religion which creates the "us against them" mentality in the first place? Sure, you could still have racial superemists but most of the fear that feeds this beast would be dead, and the racial supremists would appear even more extreme and isolated. Best of all, you wouldnt have anyone murdering for Allah.

It is never easy to leave the faith of your family and/or upbringing. Moving in a direction of atheism or agnosticism is particularly challenging. If you grew up Muslim but decided that God probably does not exist, how did you emerge from the Islamic way of thinking?

Can anyone give me kinda a step-to-step process of how to become a witness. From like finding infomation to getting baptised to witnessing door-to-door. I've looked online and talked to people, but I'd find a simple beakdown of the usual procedure very enlightening.

Many christians claim Jesus (pbuh) is God, and many also go on to say God is not like man, but at the same time they contradict themselves by saying Jesus was a:

(1) Weary 'god' (John 4:6)
(2) Hungry 'god' (Mark 11:12)
(3) Thirsty 'god' (John 19:28)
(4) Weaping 'god' (John 11:35)

Does it make sense to worship a weary, thirsty, hungry, weaping 'God'?

Is Unitarian Universalism really a religion? It seems like anyone that is a UU can believe in anything that they want to. Some Unitarian Universalists are atheists, and others believe in Jesus. It's not organized, and it's really just a group of people getting together to decide what they believe in, isn't it? Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm really just curious.

I asked this once, and I think it is a good question...still looking for more answers.

Who is the morning star Jesus or Lucifer?
In Isaiah 14:12 Lucifer is called the son of the morning and lucier means (according to Strong's Concordance) 1966 heylel hay-lale' from 1984 (in the sense of brightness); the morning-star:--lucifer.

But Jesus is referred to as both the day star and morning star.
2Pet.1
[19] We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

Rev.22
[16] I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

What a contradiction.... right or wrong?

What is needed to become a Muslim,as i`m just curious

2006-11-22 15:08:47 · 28 answers · asked by Anonymous

I have sought to encourage acceptance of Muslims in my life and in this forum. Earlier today I asked a question about the apparent harshness of Shariah Law, hoping that some Muslims would say that its more strident elements were not applicable in modern society. If you like, you can review the question here:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=An7Z.KufmQVtmpdt359jr.Lsy6IX?qid=20061122092124AAdAdRc

Instead of reassurance, what met me were simple clarifications that declared the punishments were warranted and, to the writers, desirable.

I am truly trying to remain supportive of Islam's place in a multicultural society, but these answers are making it a struggle. Are there no Muslims who consider the harsher elements of Shariah antithetical to freedom and dignity, particularly for women?
Is it the duty of every Muslim to adhere to Shariah?
